The General Secretary emphasized that for Vietnam, solidarity, support and cooperation with Cuba is a responsibility and morality, not only for the benefit of the two countries but also a contribution to the progressive movement in the world.
On the afternoon of February 19, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Politburo member and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from February 18-20.
At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam recalled his good impressions of his State visit to Cuba in September 2024 as well as the results of the phone call on February 4 with Comrade Miguel Díaz Canel; welcomed Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla to return to Vietnam and highly appreciated the results of the talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
The General Secretary affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always treasure and remember the solidarity and wholehearted support that Cuba has given to Vietnam; expressed his belief that the brotherly country of Cuba, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, will continue to steadfastly overcome difficulties and challenges, and achieve new achievements in the cause of national construction and defense.

The General Secretary suggested that the two sides coordinate to effectively implement cooperation projects in the fields of food and energy production; discuss expanding cooperation to potential fields such as biotechnology, healthcare, and tourism; and continue to effectively implement cooperation mechanisms and agreements between the two Parties and the two countries.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla respectfully thanked General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to receive the delegation; respectfully conveyed the letter and warm greetings of General Raúl Castro, First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Díaz Canel and senior Cuban leaders to General Secretary To Lam and senior Vietnamese leaders; affirmed that Cuba considers Vietnam a successful model in innovation and socio-economic development in the direction of socialism; believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the brotherly country of Vietnam will continue to achieve even greater achievements.
Cuba attaches great importance to the cooperative relationship between the two Parties, creating a solid foundation and orientation for bilateral relations.
The Cuban Foreign Minister was pleased to report to General Secretary To Lam on the good results of his visit to Vietnam; expressed his deep and sincere gratitude for the solidarity and practical support that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have given to Cuba in recent times, especially the effective support in agriculture and food security, as well as Vietnam's voice of support at multilateral forums.
The Minister highly appreciated Vietnamese enterprises for their long-term ties and business with Cuba, maintaining its position as the largest investor from the Asian region. At the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their determination to further deepen the exemplary Vietnam-Cuba relationship, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro and nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries; agreed to continue to actively and effectively implement the commitments and agreements reached between the two countries' senior leaders, as well as activities in 2025, the "Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year" to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1960-2025).
General Secretary To Lam conveyed his warm regards to General Raul Castro and senior Cuban leaders, and conveyed his respectful greetings and looked forward to the visit of First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz Canel to Vietnam./.
