Strengthen inspection of gold trading locations

Market management will strictly handle violations in the production, processing and trading of gold jewelry.

On April 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department announced: Last week, Market Management Team No. 9, Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department coordinated with the Economic and Position Crime Investigation Police Team - Thu Duc City Police to inspect the compliance with the law in the production and trading of goods and services for 5 private gold trading enterprises in Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).

Through initial inspection, the above enterprises presented their Certificates of Business Registration for Private Enterprises as prescribed. The inspection team discovered that the above business locations were trading in gold-colored metal jewelry (jewelry gold) including: rings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants of all kinds without invoices, documents, unknown origin, no product labels as prescribed, with a total value of more than 233.9 million VND. The team made a record of temporary detention to continue to clarify and handle according to legal regulations.

At the same time, Market Management Team No. 18 also coordinated with Dong Thanh Commune Police, Hoc Mon District (HCMC) to conduct a surprise inspection of a private gold trading enterprise in the area. Here, the Inspection Team discovered and temporarily seized a quantity of gold-colored metal jewelry of various types without product labels, no origin, no invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods according to regulations, unknown quality, unused, with a total value of 49 million VND. Market Management Team No. 18 decided to temporarily seize all of the above goods for handling according to regulations.

Previously, Market Management Team No. 11 also coordinated with Thiec Market Management Board, District 11 (HCMC) to propagate, disseminate and guide legal knowledge for small traders trading in gold products. Up to now, Market Management Teams have inspected and temporarily seized goods with signs of violations worth up to 499.6 million VND.

In Tay Ninh province, on April 16, the Inspection Team of Market Management Team No. 4 also inspected KP enterprise in Chau Thanh district. Here, the Inspection Team discovered that the enterprise was trading in goods (gold jewelry) with labels that did not fully contain the required content on the product label according to the law on product labeling. The violating goods included: 17 products of men's and women's rings of various types, with a total value of the violating goods: 105.4 million VND.

Currently, Market Management Team No. 4 has completed the documents and submitted them to the Director of the Market Management Department of Tay Ninh province for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
