Hundreds of detonators detained

On the evening of January 31, the leader of Quang Ngai Provincial Police said that Binh Son District Police (Quang Ngai) had just destroyed an explosives source, and confiscated 179 kg of explosives and hundreds of detonators.

Accordingly, at 9:00 p.m. on January 30, at the inter-commune road in Phu Long 1 village, Binh Phuoc commune (Binh Son district), Binh Son district police caught Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung (52 years old, in Binh Phuoc commune) driving a car with license plate 76A - 088.65, along with his son Nguyen Minh Tien (29 years old, in Binh Phuoc commune) transporting objects on the car suspected to be explosives, so they proceeded to check.

Searching the residence of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, the police discovered 179 kg of explosives.

Working with the police, Mr. Dung confessed that the objects in the car were detonators, a total of 540. During an emergency search of Mr. Dung's residence, Binh Son District Police discovered 179 kg of explosives and temporarily detained this quantity of explosives for investigation.

According to the police, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung has a criminal record for illegally buying, selling, and storing explosives. In the locality, Mr. Dung lives under the guise of honest business, in order to conceal his criminal behavior. Mr. Dung is also considered a local explosives dealer.

The discovery of a large quantity of explosives and detonators is being further investigated and clarified by Binh Son District Police.
