This year's Forbes ranking marked a historic milestone when the number of global billionaires surpassed 3,000 for the first time, reaching 3,028, an increase of 247 billionaires compared to last year. The total assets of the super-rich also increased by 2 trillion USD, bringing the total figure to 16.1 trillion USD.

Among these, the US is still the country with the most billionaires with 902 people, with billionaire Elon Musk topping the list, followed by China (including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) with 516 billionaires and India with 205 billionaires.

Vietnam has 5 representatives on the list of world billionaires in 2025 (including 1 female billionaire), including: Chairman of Vingroup Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of VietJet Air Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao , Chairman of Hoa Phat Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Techcombank Ho Hung Anh and Chairman of Masan Nguyen Dang Quang.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is the owner of the largest assets among the 5 Vietnamese billionaires, with 6.5 billion USD, an increase of 2.1 billion USD compared to last year. This is the 13th year he has been on this list.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's assets remain at 2.8 billion USD. She currently holds the position of Vice Chairwoman of HDBank Board of Directors and Chairwoman of VietJet Air.

Steel tycoon Tran Dinh Long has $2.4 billion, down $0.2 billion from last year. He is now ranked 1,513th in the world.

Mr. Ho Hung Anh is on this list for the 7th time. His assets this year are 2 billion USD.

Masan Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang also appeared on the list for the fifth consecutive year. His assets are currently $1 billion.

Meanwhile, Thaco Chairman Tran Ba Duong is no longer recognized by Forbes as having billion-dollar assets.

To be included in the list, the method chosen by Forbes is to evaluate the size of an individual's assets based on stock prices and exchange rates as of March 7.

Billionaire Elon Musk is the richest man in the world.

According to Forbes magazine, technology billionaire Elon Musk (pictured) - founder of Tesla and SpaceX - has officially regained the title of richest person on the planet, with a fortune of 342 billion USD.

This is a "spectacular comeback" for billionaire Musk after losing this position in 2023. In just the past year, his assets have grown strongly, with an increase of up to 147 billion USD, equivalent to nearly double compared to the previous year.

This success comes from Tesla's impressive growth, SpaceX's major contracts with the US government and the remarkable development of xAI, the AI company Musk founded.

Musk has reclaimed the No. 1 spot from Bernard Arnault thanks to the meteoric rise of Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI. Despite some recent struggles, including a 40% drop in Tesla stock over the past two months, Musk has maintained his crown.
