Youth Month Imprints in Cu Lao District

- This year, Youth Month activities in Phu Tan district continue to have diverse contents, attracting union members, young people and students to participate. Each part of the work is implemented practically, effectively, safely, and has a wide spread among young people and children, marking the "green shirt" force's contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality.

In addition to the implementation of the District Youth Union's campaign, the Commune Youth Union has implemented the project "Talking trash bins" along the roads. These trash bins are built to collect pesticide bottles, decorate with paintings, and create messages for people to raise their awareness of environmental protection and dispose of trash in the right place. Another project is the "Multi-purpose sign - safety on all roads", to warn people participating in traffic about dangerous curves, along with the phone number of the commune police so that people can contact them promptly when an incident occurs.

In Long Hoa commune, union members and young people participated in clearing the area of ​​the commune People's Committee, cutting down trees, planting flowers on the roads; organizing training classes to foster union sentiment; holding meetings on the founding day of the union to discuss traditions and meanings... Secretary of Long Hoa commune union Duong Thi Hong Tam said that they are preparing to launch a digital literacy group, instructing and supporting people to make cashless payments, and supporting online public services.

The 3 major contents were implemented by the Youth Union at all levels with many contents from the district to the grassroots, the union members and young people participated actively, effectively and widely” - Secretary of Phu Tan District Youth Union Lam Le Thao Vy shared.

Since the beginning of March, the District Youth Union has focused on propaganda and education activities. In particular, the Youth Month 2025 launching ceremony held in Phu Xuan commune supported the construction of 3 Charity houses for union members with difficult housing circumstances, with a total support fund of 120 million VND; supported 10 health insurance cards for students; provided capital support for 2 young people doing business; presented 30 gifts to students with difficult circumstances; presented 9 gifts to union members and young people with difficult circumstances... with a total value of nearly 150 million VND.

After the launching ceremony, the District Youth Union and the District Youth Union coordinated with the locality to deploy union members and young people to participate in projects and tasks such as: Building a windmill road; cleaning the market area; volunteer haircutting and fire prevention and fighting training for students. The Union bases simultaneously carried out projects and tasks with the participation of 315 union members, youth and students. Thereby, they donated 1 bicycle to a poor student, sponsored students in difficult circumstances at a rate of 200,000 VND/month, and gave health insurance cards to students in difficult circumstances. The total cost of implementing activities during Youth Month was nearly 340 million VND from local benefactors and the Youth Union of An Giang Vocational College.

With the support of the Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, Phu Tan District Youth Union coordinated with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hoa Lac commune to start the construction of Hy Vong 434 bridge - a private bridge, reinforced concrete structure, 36m long, 4m wide, expected load capacity of 8 tons. The total cost of building the bridge is about 1.8 billion VND, of which the Hope Fund sponsored 150 million VND, the rest was contributed by local and foreign benefactors, and the people of Hoa Lac commune participated in the labor day. Youth Month also made its mark with the high-profile response to the 2025 campaign to join hands to build a civilized urban area, district-level green Sunday with many tasks: Environmental sanitation, scraping and erasing billboards, cutting down green trees, collecting garbage; launching the youth project to protect the environment...

In addition to local activities, another meaningful activity maintained by the District Youth Union for many years is to respond to the March border month. This year, the destination is Tinh Bien International Border Gate Station and An Nong Commune (Tinh Bien Town). During the trip, the delegation gave gifts to households in difficult circumstances, with a total value of 20 million VND. In conjunction with the Union's birthday, the entire district organized a Youth Union sympathy class for 500 young people, thereby admitting 220 outstanding young people into the Youth Union; organized a trip back to the source at the Bong Lai Pagoda Revolutionary Historical Site...
