Driver tested positive for drugs

On June 3, 2023, the Traffic Police Department of Dak Nong Provincial Police said that the unit is preparing a file and punishing a driver who violated the Road Traffic Law and tested positive for drugs while driving a car.

Previously, on June 2, 2023, at km1803+100 in village 6, Truc Son commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province, the patrol team of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of Dak Nong Provincial Police discovered a car with license plate number: 51G-475... violating the speed limit by 5 to less than 10km/h (87/80km/h).

Record of driver violating drug use while driving a vehicle

The task force stopped the vehicle for inspection and discovered that driver Nguyen Quang D (born in 1969, residing in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) showed signs of suspected drug use. The task force coordinated with the District Police's Criminal, Economic and Drug Team to conduct a quick test, and the driver tested positive for drugs.

Checking people and vehicles and not detecting drug possession, the authorities proceeded to draw up an administrative violation report for the driver with the following violations: speeding from 5 to under 10km/h, not having a driver's license, driving a vehicle on the road with drugs in the body, and temporarily impounding 01 car.

Driver's identification and drug test positive

For the above violations, drivers can be fined over 46 million VND according to Decree 123/2021/ND-CP of the Government replacing a number of articles in Decree 100/2029/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the field of road traffic.
