Supachok surpasses Xuan Son and Tien Linh in the AFF Cup Best Striker award

(Dan Tri) - Star Supachok (Thailand) is temporarily surpassing Xuan Son to lead the Best Striker award of AFF Cup 2024.
The AFF Cup 2024 Organizing Committee has announced the nominees for the title of Best Striker of the tournament. The nominees include: Xuan Son, Tien Linh (Vietnam), Suphanat Mueanta, Patrik Gustavsson, Supachok Sarachat (Thailand), Shawal Anuar, Faris Ramli (Singapore), Bjorn Martin Kristensen (Philippines), Joao Pedro (Timor Leste). The star born in 1997 won the title of Top Scorer of the tournament with 7 goals. In addition, he was also honored in the AFF Cup Best Player award. However, because this was an online vote by fans, the results did not necessarily reflect the truth. The leading name was Supachok of Thailand, receiving 50.50% of the votes. This player was absent in the entire group stage and only scored 1 goal in the AFF Cup. That was a long-range goal against the Vietnamese team in the second leg of the AFF Cup final at Rajamangala Stadium. However, this was a controversial goal. Many opinions said that Supachok and the Thai team played unfairly when they did not return the ball to the Vietnamese team. Many Vietnamese fans called for voting for the star born in 1998, so the number of votes for this player increased rapidly. Xuan Son ranked second in the list of Best Striker with 40.40%. The two players Supachok and Xuan Son left the rest far behind. The third-placed Suphanat Mueanta received only 4.8%, while Tien Linh ranked fourth with 2.76%. The race between Xuan Son and Supachok for this award promises to be very exciting. If he comes first, Supachok will dominate all the online voting awards that he was nominated for by the AFF Cup Organizing Committee.
