Tea trees have been grown en masse in Hai Ha since 1963. Up to now, Hai Ha has over 800 hectares of tea, becoming the largest concentrated tea growing area in Quang Ninh province.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy and Ms. Nguyen Thi Luan (Quang Long Commune, Hai Ha District) are the children of workers at Duong Hoa Tea Farm, who were the first concentrated tea growers in Hai Ha. Following the generation of their fathers and uncles, they have always devoted themselves to taking care of their tea gardens, considering tea trees as a means of livelihood, bringing work and income, helping their families improve their lives. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy said: Tea trees can be harvested up to 9 times a year. For each time like that, I earn about 20 million VND, of which only about 20% is for materials and care, the rest is profit. It turns out that the income from tea trees is much higher than from other crops. Ms. Nguyen Thi Luan added: Only from tea trees can we take care of our lives, our children's education, build houses, and have enough internal and external relations.

Currently, Hai Ha has over 800 hectares of concentrated tea, with an output of over 1,000 tons of dry tea per year, exported to domestic and foreign markets. Tea trees have helped thousands of people and households in Hai Ha have jobs and income, and their lives have improved thanks to tea trees. Tea trees are increasingly being invested in intensively, including people who have spent their whole lives growing tea trees and are determined to keep the tea profession, while the younger generation, some of whom once left the tea growing areas to do other jobs, have now returned to invest in tea trees. Currently, many tea growing areas and tea processing facilities have absorbed and learned tea growing and processing techniques from their ancestors, applied more modern machinery and equipment, improved technical processes in production, approached the trend of digital commerce, e-commerce, etc. to develop tea trees, bringing tea trees to new heights. Currently, with an output of about 1,000 tons of dry tea per year, Hai Ha sells 40% domestically and the remaining 60% is exported abroad.
After many efforts, Hai Ha people are proud of their special agricultural products. Coming up, on October 27 and 28, Hai Ha district will organize the Flower Street Tea Festival with a series of activities related to tea trees. Mr. Bui Thanh Tuan, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Hai Ha district, said: This tea festival will attract viewers with activities such as cycling around the tea area, folk dance performances on the tea fields, tea-nourishing water procession, ancient tea tree procession, tea picking competition, tea roasting competition, food and drink cooking competition from tea trees, tea tree handover ceremony to the younger generation, gratitude ceremony for those who have contributed to the tea area, singing competition, tik tok making competition about Hai Ha land, including images of tea trees...
