The power of unity among the people

In the first 9 months of 2024, the Fatherland Front at all levels and socio-political organizations in Quang Ninh have done a good job of gathering and mobilizing people from all walks of life to effectively carry out patriotic emulation campaigns and movements. Thereby, contributing to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, joining hands to successfully carry out the political tasks of the province.

Imbued with the Party's guiding viewpoint on promoting people's strength, from the beginning of the year, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has led and directed the implementation of emulation campaigns and movements, aiming to strongly arouse the spirit of emulation and creative labor of all classes of people, creating consensus in society to successfully carry out political tasks. Responding to the launch of the Provincial Fatherland Front, 100% of the Fatherland Fronts at district and commune levels have launched and widely implemented emulation campaigns and movements to residential areas with many diverse forms, creative ways and concretized into specific models and tasks associated with the implementation of political goals, socio-economic development, and ensuring security and order in the locality.

Through the propaganda, mobilization and appeal of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, consensus has been created among the majority of union members, association members and people through active participation in responding to emulation movements and campaigns launched in the area. The consensus of the people is most clearly demonstrated through the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".

In the first 9 months of 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front mobilized resources to support the construction of 77 houses and 35 hygienic toilets for poor households in the province. The Provincial Youth Union mobilized over 20,000 Youth Union members to participate in more than 200 environmental protection activities and respond to climate change. The Provincial Women's Union effectively maintained 2,383 environmental protection models with nearly 40 million members; 5 models of Women's Groups producing recycled plastic waste products with 151 members. Women's Union members at all levels also actively participated in the activities of the clubs: "Women volunteer to protect the environment", "Women-managed flower and tree route", "Women-managed road section"...

In localities and establishments, 521 pilot models have been registered for implementation since 2022 and have been effectively maintained to date with the number of members participating in the following fields: Household economic development, cooperatives, sustainable poverty reduction, advanced new rural construction, model new rural construction; community activities participating in self-management, self-monitoring, ensuring security and order, traffic safety, food safety, environmental protection, etc.

Recently, from the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", people in the province have unanimously contributed thousands of working days to participate in the peak campaign, cleaning up, treating waste, and cleaning the environment after storm No. 3. Typically, the Provincial Youth Union established 171 youth shock teams in communes, wards, and towns with more than 5,000 union members and young people participating in cleaning the environment. The Provincial Veterans Association mobilized over 40,000 members to participate in cleaning the environment, helping members whose houses had collapsed or had their roofs blown off to stabilize their lives.

Localities also mobilized hundreds of thousands of civil servants, union members, people and functional forces to support the evacuation of people from areas at risk of landslides and flooding; urgently supported the reconstruction of houses, repair of infrastructure; and mobilized forces to clean up and handle waste and fallen trees.

Ha Long City is one of the localities that effectively mobilized people's strength to carry out the 7-day peak campaign to clean up and handle fallen trees on main roads, clean up the environment, help schools, hospitals, landslide vulnerable points, social security, and rescue.

Mr. Bui Duc Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Long City, said: The whole city has mobilized nearly 65,000 people to participate, about 2,000 means of transport and machinery to serve the environmental cleaning work; established 541 volunteer groups in villages and neighborhoods with thousands of people participating in cleaning up broken and fallen trees, cleaning the environment, beautifying the urban area, and supporting people to clean up their houses after the storm. Thanks to the active participation of many cadres, party members, and people, only 7 days after the storm, the appearance of the city was clean and beautiful again, creating favorable conditions for people's lives and production, business, tourism and service activities to return to normal.

Not only contributing working days, through the appeal letter to support the people of Quang Ninh province to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods of the provincial Fatherland Front, many organizations and individuals inside and outside the province have proactively participated in contributing money to help people overcome the consequences of storm No. 3. By September 30, 2,641 groups and individuals had donated with a total value of over 99 billion VND, of which 96 billion VND was in cash; and over 3 billion VND in kind.

Since the beginning of the year, many emulation movements and campaigns have been widely implemented and have brought about practical results through arousing the spirit of emulation and creative labor of all classes of people, as well as mobilizing resources and the combined strength of the whole society. These include the following campaigns and movements: "All people unite to build a cultural life", "All people protect national security", "Building families with 5 no's and 3 clean's", "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", "Lighting up the country roads", "Creative solidarity", "Youth volunteers", "Creative youth", "Youth volunteers to protect the Fatherland", "Emulating good workers, creative workers, exemplary advanced workers", "Agencies, units, and enterprises meeting cultural standards"...

With the effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements, the campaign of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the province to the grassroots level has made an important contribution to promoting economic, cultural and social development, maintaining national defense and security of the province; and building a clean and strong Party and government.

Promoting the achieved results, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province continues to mobilize the strength of the great national unity bloc to develop patriotic emulation movements and campaigns. At the same time, it regularly pays attention to building, discovering, nurturing, introducing, rewarding, praising new factors, models, typical examples, good and creative ways of doing things, replicating advanced examples, setting examples of good people and good deeds, in order to promote and encourage emulation movements, creating motivation to successfully complete the socio-economic development targets and tasks of localities and the province.
