The appeal of Vietnamese culture

When I was young, I was also passionate about foreign culture, from literature to poetry. When I went to university, I chose to major in Soviet Russian literature. Young people today have more opportunities than we did in the past to be passionate about foreign culture and literature. Therefore, when asked by some young people about the names of Korean singers and bands, they can answer, but when asked if they like Bai Choi, they will shake their heads.

But then, with time, with the attraction of the country's culture and arts, more and more young people are interested in Vietnamese culture, finding in it the simple but profound beauty of each song, melody, and colors that carry the Vietnamese soul. As for creative artists, they turn to traditional Vietnamese music to find melodies and rhythms that suit them, and from there find a way to express themselves that suits the audience. There have been creative artists determined to bring works with strong Vietnamese colors to the world, and they have succeeded. The international community recognizes their works, and young Vietnamese people love them.

The path from Vietnam to the world of Vietnamese culture and arts is not an easy one, but the first steps have been taken, and it has been confirmed that the direction is correct and promising. There are artists who compose and sing Vietnamese music that are loved internationally, and in time there will appear art stars who receive awards at the highest level of the world. That cannot come immediately, but it will definitely come. Now Vietnamese pho and Vietnamese bread have come to the world and are happily welcomed by foreign friends. They are also consumer products that are imbued with Vietnamese culture. I hope that one day in the not too distant future, many works of art by Vietnamese artists will be as attractive to international friends as pho and bread.
