Solidarity and friendship between the two nations

The delegation of Tay Ninh province came to congratulate the Khmer people on their traditional New Year in Tbong Khmum province.

Also coming to congratulate the Khmer people on their traditional New Year in Tbong Khmum province was a delegation from Binh Phuoc province, led by Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh - Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee. Welcoming and receiving the delegations from Tay Ninh and Binh Phuoc provinces were Mr. Pen Kosal - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, Governor of Tbong Khmum province; Mr. Long Theam - Chairman of the People's Council of Tbong Khmum province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pen Kosal, on behalf of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Governor's Administration, welcomed the presence of delegates and leaders of Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh provinces.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Mr. Pen Kosal reviewed the history between the two nations: From 1975-1979, Cambodia was immersed in war, the economy, society and people were severely devastated.

In the most difficult circumstances, Samdech Akka Moha Pothisal Chea Sim, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, especially Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen fled to Vietnam on June 20, 1977, seeking support for the national liberation struggle and established the armed force of the Cambodian United Front for National Salvation on December 2, 1978.

With the support of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and the support of peace and justice forces, the genocidal regime was overthrown on January 7, 1979.

This is the historical truth of the two countries, especially from the 1970s to the present, and is a solid foundation for socio-economic development and peaceful coexistence between people. The leaders of Tbong Khmum, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh provinces are good friends, good partners, respecting peaceful coexistence in friendship, good traditions and expanding the scope of close cooperation; aiming for good results in many fields, mutual benefit of the people and promoting investment, trade, tourism, health and education potential.

Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh shared that, looking back on the historical journey of the two nations and countries, the Vietnamese and Cambodian people have a long-standing tradition of solidarity and friendship. Over the past year, the traditional friendship, solidarity and cooperation in all fields between the two countries of Vietnam and Cambodia have been continuously strengthened, consolidated and developed extensively by the Party Committees, authorities and people of the two provinces of Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Tbong Khmum.

The two provinces of Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh, together with Tbong Khmum province, regularly send delegations of officials to visit, exchange, learn and cooperate in all fields, thereby creating favorable conditions for people-to-people exchange and socio-economic development.

Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh expressed her joy and excitement at the remarkable progress that Tbong Khmum province has achieved in recent times. The strong development of economy, infrastructure, along with achievements in the fields of education and health are clear evidence of the wise leadership of the government and the tireless efforts of the people of Tbong Khmum province.

These successes not only contribute to improving people's lives but also create a solid foundation for the increasingly deep cooperative relationship between Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh provinces and Tbong Khmum province towards sustainable development and prosperity.

The Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee believes that under the wise reign of the King, the leadership of the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Government with the Cambodian People's Party as the core, the Cambodian people, specifically Tbong Khmum province, will certainly continue to achieve greater achievements in the cause of building a peaceful, independent, happy, and prosperous Cambodia.
