On August 4, at the National Shooting Range of Region 3, Division 7 (Corps 4) organized a live-fire exercise for the 2023 reserve mobilization force. Attending, directing, and monitoring the exercise were Major General Truong Ngoc Hoi, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Corps 4, and comrades in the Corps Command.
The live-fire exercise was titled “Infantry Battalion Attacks the Enemy Defending at Hill 98” in the midland area. Immediately after receiving the combat order, the DBDV force of Regiment 165 (Division 7) quickly prepared, secretly maneuvered and developed the combat according to the plan and tactical intention. Infantry Battalion 4 (Regiment 165) and the regiment’s subordinate forces coordinated smoothly, attacked decisively from all directions and fronts, created a siege, controlled the battlefield, and opened fire to overwhelm the enemy right from the beginning.

Thanks to being trained, closely coordinated, proficient in techniques and tactics, along with flexible and thorough application of terrain, terrain, features and effects of weapons, the DBDV force of Division 7 successively raided and destroyed most of the assigned targets, completing the exercise mission as intended.
Colonel Mai Chi Khanh, Division Commander of Division 7, said: “During the exercise, the unit focused on training methods, working style, combat coordination, and situation handling skills of the commander and soldiers directly involved in the fight. Therefore, 100% of the officers and soldiers firmly grasped their tasks and effectively applied the fighting style and military art of our Army to actual combat. In addition, the units also did a good job of Party and political work, focusing on building determination, ideological fortitude, responsibility, and a competitive spirit for each officer and soldier, contributing to the successful completion of the exercise mission.”

Commenting on the exercise, the leaders of the 4th Corps highly appreciated the preparation and organization of the exercise by Division 7, ensuring that it was as intended and absolutely safe. Each officer and soldier overcame difficulties and strictly followed regulations. Based on the exercise results, the Corps requested Division 7 to continue implementing measures to improve the quality of mobilization and the ability to coordinate operations in local defense areas; strengthen training, and evaluate the actual results of staff work, coordination, and cooperation of units and localities in receiving, managing, and training the DBDV force, ready to fight to protect the Fatherland in all situations.
