Walking around the central area of Sop Cop commune, we noticed many agents, wholesale and retail stores, consumer goods, strictly implementing the price listing for products; goods have clear origin. Mr. Nguyen The Duc, owner of Ly Duc motorbike shop, Sop Nam village, said: My family has been in business since 2005 with motorbike repair and garment. Accumulating capital, in 2012, my wife and I expanded the shop to sell motorbikes and machinery for agricultural production... annual revenue reached about 600 million VND, the family fully fulfilled its tax obligations to the State.
Mr. Cam Van Phat, Hua Muong village, borrowed 60 million VND from the district's Social Policy Bank plus his savings to open Cam Phat Refrigeration Store. He said: The store's products mainly serve people in the commune and neighboring areas. Currently, the store also creates stable jobs for 3 local workers, with an income of 7 million VND/person/month.
Developing trade and services is the focus, Sop Cop commune creates favorable conditions for households to register business procedures; access loans; support premises to expand business and production scale. Along with that, encourage organizations and individuals to respond to the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". Directing state management of trade and services; managing the market, fighting smuggling, trade fraud, ensuring consumer rights.
Mr. Lo Van Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Sop Cop Commune, informed: Currently, Sop Cop Commune has 10 villages and more than 1,980 households. The People's Committee of the Commune encourages households with houses on the street to expand their businesses, diversify their products, and meet the shopping needs for production and consumption of the people. Up to now, the commune has diversified types of services with the following industries: Food and beverage, electronics, mechanics, construction materials trading, groceries, fashion, rental housing... Every year, the commune coordinates with specialized units to organize training courses to ensure food hygiene and safety, fire prevention and fighting at production and business establishments operating in the area. At the same time, the organization signs commitments and reminds businesses and people not to encroach on traffic corridors.
Now, Sop Cop commune has 107 households trading in food, foodstuff, food, clothing, pharmaceuticals, motorbike repair, transportation; 6 wood processing and manufacturing establishments, 3 brick manufacturing establishments... These businesses create regular jobs for hundreds of workers, with stable annual income, contributing nearly 1 billion VND to the state budget. The material and spiritual life of the people has been improved, the average income is 45 million VND/person, the poverty rate has decreased to 5.64%.
Continuing to exploit the advantages of developing trade and services, Sop Cop commune focuses on propagating, mobilizing, and encouraging organizations and individuals to expand production scale; develop wholesale and retail systems, contributing to job creation and increasing income for people.
