A representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that they had a working session with B Ray about his past false and offensive statements.
On September 5, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City answered questions from Knowledge - Znews about the noise related to the misleading and ignorant statements of rapper B Ray (real name: Tran Thien Thanh Bao) in the past.
A representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that they had a working session with B Ray.
"At the meeting, Mr. Bao presented the incident that occurred in 2015 and 2016 while he was abroad. At that time, he did not fully understand the situation, so he made misleading statements. The authorities further informed that after Mr. Bao returned to Vietnam, he was invited to work with the agencies to discuss and clarify related issues. After being discussed with the authorities, Mr. Bao realized that his previous statements were incorrect, offensive, and made his personal image not good in the eyes of the audience; at the same time, he proactively deleted the content posted on his personal page," said a representative of the Department of Culture.
After the meeting, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City strictly reminded B Ray to continue to improve the artist's sense of responsibility towards the audience in performing activities as well as public behavior, comply with legal regulations and the Code of Conduct for artists to preserve the good image of the artist.
Based on the state management function of activities and information on cyberspace, the Department of Information and Communications is currently coordinating with relevant agencies to continue reviewing and taking specific measures when problems arise.
Recently, on forums and social networks, B Ray's incorrect statements in the past have been "dug up" again, causing fierce controversy.
On August 27, B Ray apologized on his personal page. The rapper said: "B Ray realized that he had had immature thoughts that led to incorrect posts in the past. At that time, B Ray himself did not have the correct awareness nor did he have full knowledge of Vietnamese history and culture, along with the rashness and impetuosity of youth. Since returning to Vietnam, B Ray has realized that what he did before was wrong. B Ray has proactively worked with the Ho Chi Minh City Police since June 22, 2022 to admit his past wrongdoings and have a clear form of correction."
