Dak Nong Department of Information and Communications celebrates 20 years of establishment

On the afternoon of August 29, Dak Nong Department of Information and Communications solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its establishment (September 1, 2004 - September 1, 2024).

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Y Quang ^B'Krong , member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Trong Yen, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Bon, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Information and Communications of different periods.

Some outstanding results after 20 years of construction and development of the Department of Information and Communications of Dak Nong province

After 20 years of establishment, Dak Nong Information and Communication sector has developed strongly, made important contributions and affirmed its mission as the province's leading unit in digital technology, digital transformation, creating new momentum in digital innovation and information and communication. Up to now, the multi-layered communication system is widespread; affirming its role as the main information flow of society, orienting public opinion, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. The core and main force are 03 press agencies (Dak Nong Newspaper, Dak Nong Radio and Television Station and Nam Nung Magazine). The radio coverage rate per village is about 65%, with more than 600 electronic information pages. Cashless payment is increasingly popular among all classes of people. 100% of enterprises in the province register to pay taxes electronically, more than 98% of total budget revenue is accounted for electronically. Telecommunication and digital infrastructure have gradually fulfilled their role as important economic and technical infrastructure of the Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society. The broadband fiber optic backbone network is connected to the centers of 71/71 communes, wards, and towns; the population coverage rate of 4G mobile technology is 99%; the rate of people with smartphones is 76.65%; the rate of households using fixed broadband internet is 60.68%; the number of fixed broadband subscribers/100 people is 16.36 people; the number of mobile broadband subscribers/100 people is 90.34 subscribers; the initial deployment of 5G mobile network in the province. With the achieved results, the collective of the Department of Information and Communications of Dak Nong was awarded the Emulation Flag, Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in emulation movements and many noble awards from the Party, State and sectors at all levels; 03 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister for outstanding achievements in information and communications work. At the ceremony, the Steering Committee for Digital Transformation of Dak Nong province officially launched the Dak Nong Online Digital Transformation Contest in 2024 and the 60-day peak campaign "Improving the efficiency of using online public services in Dak Nong province". The implementation period starts from September 1 to October 31, 2024. On this occasion, the Department of Information and Communications held a meeting to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Information and Communications Sector's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2024).
