The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (TKV) is an important and strategic investor of the province. He requested relevant departments, branches and localities to promptly handle difficulties and obstacles within their authority, creating the best conditions for TKV to operate and develop.

On the afternoon of April 11, in Da Lat city, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai chaired a working session with TKV on the production, business and investment situation of the group and its member units in the province.

In Lam Dong province, TKV is managing and operating the Lam Dong bauxite-aluminum complex project, with a designed capacity of 650 thousand tons of alumina/year; the Dong Nai 5 hydropower plant project, with a designed capacity of 150 MW. The converted alumina output is 7.67 million tons, and the electricity output is 6.82 million MWh.

Total budget contribution is estimated at 7,552 billion VND, of which the Lam Dong bauxite-aluminum complex project is about 6,208 billion VND; creating jobs for more than 1,300 workers. In 2024, the converted alumina output will reach 710 thousand tons, equal to 109.2% of the plan; budget contribution is 685 billion VND, equal to about 5.2% of the total budget revenue of Lam Dong province.

In the production, business and investment plan until 2030, TKV aims to maintain stable operation of Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Plant , with an output of about 550 million MWh/year. For the bauxite, aluminum and alimin sectors, it will promote exploration, resource development, and mine investment according to the planning and development strategy approved by the Prime Minister; along with the overall development project of TKV in this sector.

At the meeting, TKV representative requested Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to consider handling and jointly propose to the Government, ministries and branches some related contents. Relevant departments, branches and localities of Lam Dong province discussed some contents according to TKV's proposals and recommendations.
