Summary of activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity

On the morning of July 8, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held a national online conference to review the first 6 months of 2024 on the activities of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Activities in provinces and centrally run cities. Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Activities chaired the conference. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity, the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, the City Party Committee - the Standing Body of the Steering Committee strictly implemented the working regulations and key tasks according to the work program. Focusing on leading and directing the serious implementation of the conclusions and directions of the Central Steering Committee, of the General Secretary, Head of the Steering Committee, contributing to promoting and improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption and negativity work.

Notably, attention has been paid to directing and strengthening the inspection, supervision and handling of party organizations and party members when there are signs of violations of exemplary responsibilities, things party members are not allowed to do and related to cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee. The work of advising, directing and handling cases and incidents has become increasingly strict and effective; the work of recovering lost and misappropriated assets in cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee has had many positive changes.

Together with provinces and cities across the country, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity of Quang Ninh province has focused on directing, thoroughly grasping, and fully and promptly implementing the policies of the Central Government and the province on anti-corruption and negativity. Actively and urgently advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Standing Committee to direct the implementation of anti-corruption and negativity tasks in a focused and key direction. The Provincial Steering Committee has effectively promoted the collective working mechanism, regularly met, discussed, and agreed on opinions to direct the handling of corruption and negativity cases and incidents, complicated and of public concern; at the same time, speeding up the progress of resolving cases under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee.

At the conference, delegates also heard the Central Internal Affairs Commission disseminate the content of Regulation 132-QD/TW (October 27, 2023) of the Politburo on controlling power, preventing and combating corruption and negativity in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of sentences.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity, requested the Steering Committees for anti-corruption and anti-negativity of provinces and cities to continue to direct and effectively implement the Politburo's regulations on controlling power, preventing and combating corruption and negativity; on revolutionary ethical standards of cadres and party members in the new period. Continue to promote inspection, supervision and audit work, focusing on areas prone to corruption and negativity, especially prominent, urgent issues of public concern and topics under the direction of the Central Steering Committee and the Central Inspection Committee; improve the effectiveness of supervision by elected representative agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, people and the press on the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity...

In addition, focus on directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the inspection and handling of serious, complicated corruption and negative cases that are of public concern, especially cases assigned by the Central Steering Committee and under the monitoring and direction of the provincial Steering Committee.
