Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the department has proposed a 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students from January 23 to February 2, 2025 (ie December 24 to January 5).
Thus, if the proposal of the Department of Education and Training of the City is approved by the City People's Committee, more than 1.7 million preschool students will have 11 days off for the Lunar New Year 2025, 2 days more than the original plan. According to Mr. Hieu, increasing the Tet holiday by 2 days will facilitate students and parents and will not affect the school year's plan and tasks.

Accordingly, the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday for more than 1.7 million preschool, primary, secondary and high school students is expected to start from January 25, 2025 (December 26) to February 2, 2025 (January 5). Students will have a total of 9 days off, less than last year.
