Regarding the hundreds of parents with permanent residence in Tay Mo ward (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) who were present at the gate of Tay Mo 3 Primary School because they were worried that their children would not be able to study near their home, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem district, said that as soon as they received information that parents were surrounding the school gate, the Department of Education and Training requested the school to urgently invite parents to the school to fill out a request form, clearly stating their household registration information and the desired facility for their children to study.
Currently, there are a number of groups of students who want to transfer to Tay Mo 3 Primary School, including: Students in grades 2-5 from neighboring schools requesting to transfer to the new school, of which the largest number is Ly Nam De Primary School (Mieu Nha, Tay Mo) with 233 students requesting to transfer.
Besides, there are also students from other provinces and districts who have just moved to live in apartment buildings in the area and first grade students who have applied to other schools, but when they saw Tay Mo 3 Primary School was in operation, they wanted to withdraw their applications and transfer back.
The Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District said that Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school separated from Tay Mo Primary School. After separating classes from grades 2-5 and enrolling first graders, Tay Mo 3 Primary School has 1,111 students in 30 classes. All newly recruited students have household registration in Tay Mo ward according to regulations, are in the right category with a target of 400 first graders. Currently, the number of first graders is 460 out of a total of 13 classes, exceeding the target by 60 students. Therefore, those who do not submit their application within the prescribed time are considered to have no need to enter the school.
Ms. Tam added that the Department of Education and Training has distributed application forms to parents of students who wish to apply. The Department of Education and Training will receive, synthesize information, classify and count the number to have a solution.
Regarding this matter, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has requested the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District to advise the district leaders to research and organize a plan to ensure the legitimate learning rights of students in accordance with regulations. The Department of Education and Training also requested to increase information and propaganda, mobilizing parents to clearly understand the regulations of the industry, and confidently prepare the best conditions for their children to enter the new school year 2024-2025.
