On November 17, the Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province said that the province has just approved regulations on collection rates, collection, payment, management and use of sightseeing fees. relics belonging to the Hue Monuments Complex.

Accordingly, the Center for Monuments Conservation is currently Hue ancient capital Tickets are being sold at 11 relic sites, including: Hue Imperial City, Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities, An Dinh Palace, Nam Giao Altar, Hon Chen Palace and the tombs of King Gia Long, Minh Mang, Thieu Tri, Tu Duc, Dong Khanh, Khai Dinh.

From January 1, 2025, the center will start selling tickets to visit the tomb of King Duc Duc for 50,000 VND/time (free for children under 12 years old). This is a project that has just been restored to its original state after a long period of deterioration and is currently open for free.

In addition, this regulation also adjusts the days of free opening of relics in the Hue Monuments Complex for domestic tourists.

Accordingly, from January 1, 2025, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will open Hue monuments for free to Vietnamese people on the following specific days: Lunar New Year is free for 1 day (January 1 of the lunar calendar).

Holidays: free on Provincial Liberation Day Thua Thien Hue (March 26), August Revolution Day (August 19), National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2) and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

This is different from before, which is to reduce 2 days of free tickets on the occasion of Lunar New Year (2nd and 3rd day of the lunar calendar) and increase 2 days of free tickets on holidays in the year (August Revolution Day 19-8 and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day 23-11).

Explaining this change, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that the number of visitors coming for free during the Lunar New Year always reaches over 50,000 visitors.

Especially during the recent Lunar New Year 2024, the number of visitors to Hue relic sites reached over 100,000.

This leads to the relic system being overloaded due to the influx of visitors (mainly domestic people coming to visit because the tickets are free).

On the other hand, when comparing similar heritage sites in the country, no heritage site has applied a policy of continuous free admission for 3 days of Lunar New Year like the historical and cultural relic sites in Hue.

Therefore, it is necessary to have a solution to adjust the free days of the year appropriately, ensuring that all Vietnamese citizens enjoy the free sightseeing policy at different times of the year, while contributing to honoring other national holidays.
