Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong visited and worked at Dien Bien Provincial Museum

On the morning of April 2, 2025, Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and worked at Dien Bien Provincial Museum.

Also attending were comrade Lo Van Phuong - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Le Thanh Do - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; on the side of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there was comrade Nguyen Minh Phu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Dien Bien Provincial Museum is the predecessor of the Museum Department of Lai Chau Provincial Department of Culture and Information, established on August 22, 1963; currently, Dien Bien Provincial Museum does not have facilities, the Exhibition House, and the Artifact Warehouse are using the Son La Hydroelectric Reservoir Warehouse in Dien Bien Province. The exhibition house is in a narrow, hidden space, so it does not meet the display requirements of a museum, leading to not attracting visitors; the warehouse is degraded, not ensuring the requirements for preserving artifacts, causing many dangers to artifacts.

Faced with the actual situation at the Provincial Museum, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong directed that it is necessary to speed up the progress of the project to build the Provincial Museum.

The project to build the Provincial Museum was approved in Resolution No. 24/NQ-HDND dated June 29, 2021 of the People's Council of Dien Bien province on the investment policy of the Dien Bien Provincial Museum project. The investment in the project aims to turn the Dien Bien Provincial Museum into a complete cultural institution, effectively performing its functions and tasks according to regulations, ensuring to serve the needs of research, study, sightseeing and cultural enjoyment of the people and tourists.

The provincial museum was invested in construction as an address for generations to learn about the traditions of Dien Bien province through the political - economic - cultural - social achievements of the province. From there, it will propagate and educate each individual about the protection and promotion of traditional culture of ethnic groups; the museum will become an important and attractive destination that is indispensable in the journey of tourists when coming to Dien Bien, at the same time creating more infrastructure typical for the tourism industry to exploit and develop new tours and sightseeing programs, serving the needs of sightseeing, research, and learning of the public, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
