Right in the first days of the new year of At Ty 2025, Quang Ninh tourism industry has received positive signals with a high number of visitors, guaranteed service quality and a variety of unique and attractive products. Thereby, creating momentum for breakthrough growth, completing the goal of welcoming 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors.
In the early spring of the new year, the province's spiritual and cultural destinations continue to be the focus of attracting tourists, with the number of visitors increasing 6-8 times compared to normal days. In 9 days (from December 26 to the 5th day of Tet), Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City) welcomed nearly 78,500 visitors, Cai Bau Pagoda (Van Don District) welcomed about 130,000 visitors, Yen Tu National Special Relic Site (Uong Bi City) welcomed nearly 77,000 visitors, and Tran Dynasty Relic Site (Dong Trieu City) welcomed 59,000 visitors.
On this occasion, famous tourist attractions and entertainment areas also welcomed an increase of 40-50% in the number of visitors, such as: Ha Long Bay welcomed over 62,200 arrivals, of which international visitors reached 45,600; Sun World Ha Long Park welcomed 13,500 arrivals; Quang Ninh Museum welcomed nearly 5,000 arrivals... International visitors entering through Mong Cai border gate reached over 25,900 arrivals.
To create a vibrant tourism atmosphere right from the beginning of the year, on the morning of January 29 (the first day of Tet), Quang Ninh province organized a welcome ceremony and presented flowers to the first guests at Ha Long International Passenger Port, Tuan Chau International Passenger Port, and Van Don International Airport. On this occasion, Quang Ninh welcomed 5 international cruise ships to Ha Long with more than 6,500 tourists and about 4,000 crew members.
In addition, tourist areas and businesses have carried out the work of renovating facilities early, ensuring service quality, security and order, food safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation... ready to serve tourists during the Lunar New Year holidays. At Yen Tu National Special Relic Site (Uong Bi City), Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company organized a program to experience Vietnamese culture and traditional games, especially the traditional New Year of the nation. Tourists have the opportunity to experience many rich activities such as: making banh chung, wrapping traditional cakes (banh gu, banh te, banh san), weaving baskets, embroidering brocade, asking for words, making to he figurines, printing Dong Ho paintings, drawing calligraphy; at the same time, experiencing traditional folk games such as: Pushing sticks, tug of war, making clay firecrackers, playing chess...
In localities across the province, 25 typical cultural, sports and tourism events and activities were organized to serve the people and tourists, including art programs to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring and fireworks on New Year's Eve, sports tournaments and folk games to celebrate the Spring of At Ty 2025. Thanks to that, the number of visitors to localities this year increased by 10-30%, of which Uong Bi City welcomed the highest number of visitors with nearly 238,000, followed by Quang Yen Town with 218,000 and Ha Long City with 211,000. Some localities such as Binh Lieu and Tien Yen welcomed 3-5 times more visitors than last year's Tet.
According to information from the Department of Tourism, in 9 days (from January 25 to February 2, from December 26 to the 5th day of Tet), Quang Ninh welcomed nearly 970,000 tourists, an increase of 21% compared to the same period of the Giap Thin Lunar New Year. Of which, international visitors reached nearly 230,000, domestic visitors reached over 740,000. International overnight visitors reached nearly 140,600. Total tourism revenue reached VND 2,600 billion, an increase of 43% compared to the same period of the Giap Thin Lunar New Year.
According to Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Huyen Anh, on the occasion of this year's Lunar New Year, tourism businesses have implemented activities to best serve tourists for sightseeing and relaxation. As well as ensuring conditions for facilities and human resources to serve tourists, decorating the holiday at accommodation establishments and tourist attractions, creating highlights to attract visitors; organizing entertainment, cultural and culinary activities imbued with national identity, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for tourists. In the first quarter of 2025, Quang Ninh aims to welcome at least 5.5 million visitors, including 1.45 million international visitors. The tourism industry will continue to build special, attractive tourism products, ensuring quality; Customer appreciation programs, promotions, discounts, tourism stimulus during Tet... Service establishments strictly implement the publicity and listing of quality and prices of goods and services, creating a healthy business environment for tourists to feel secure during the spring travel.
