MC Dai Nghia: "I'm less angry since meditating and becoming a vegetarian"

For me, vegetarianism is very easy, not complicated but not simply having soy sauce, fermented bean curd, salt, sesame… because I have done proper research for my meals. After more than 10 years of being vegetarian and meditating, I feel lucky to have chosen the right path.

I used to be a hot-tempered and impulsive person. If someone said something wrong, I was ready to fight. Since I started meditating and becoming a vegetarian, I have seen a lot of changes in myself, my temperament has become gentler and more peaceful. When I get angry, I learn to control my emotions and keep my mood in the most balanced state.

I am still a person who is exploring and discovering my inner self. It is very difficult for someone to completely control their temperament. I still have anger and jealousy, but I know how to cut down to calm the negativity in me. I still accept all the events and difficulties in life, just learn to be more optimistic.

On screen, I am a lively person in the eyes of the audience, but when I return to my daily life, I prefer silence. Having passed the age of 40, my formula for happiness is knowing how to be satisfied with what I have. I am not ambitious but have many aspirations for my career and for the stage. If I had more time, I would like to practice and participate in meditation courses to nurture positive values for my soul.

Recently, people have been talking a lot about "healing" because there are more and more cases of depression and emotional disorders, partly due to the negative side of information development. I hope that young people can slow down and listen to themselves more so that their lives can go deeper. When we have an open mind, the life around us will always appear optimistic and positive.

Singer Jun Pham: "I always give my all to the present"

It has been more than half a year since Thu's father (Jun Pham's biological father - PV) passed away, which was a great loss for me in 2023. Unlike my mother's sudden passing, I had time to prepare everything, at least mentally, for my father's passing. I am still sad but I am mature enough to accept this gently and peacefully.

If you ask me if I'm okay, definitely not but it's not that bad. My sadness is still there but it doesn't affect anyone. I still let the sadness exist inside me and learn to "drink tea" happily with it.

So how did I heal myself? Now, every time I receive joy or sadness, I am never too excited or too depressed, because losses from small to big make me understand the law of life, accept that nothing lasts forever, so I must always give my all to the present.

I am not a negative person, and certainly not a “toxic positive” person – that is, someone who tries to prove that he is okay. I have always indulged my emotions. In my mind, I still believe that Dad is reunited with Mom somewhere. As for me, I will have to go back to my daily life.

I like staying at home, it gives me a sense of peace and comfort. My joy is sometimes simply cooking, cleaning the house, planting trees or arranging flowers... I suddenly realized that for the past ten years, I have been busy "climbing mountains" and have forgotten to observe and explore my surroundings.

Recently, I am very happy to have found myself again and returned to my true passion of writing books. My writing work is a "very Pham Duy Thuan" identity - that is, returning to my true self in everyday life, no longer the flashy singer Jun Pham, having to transform into this person or that person.

My next journey is definitely not to conquer another mountain, but to explore the mountain I have. I see myself as neither rich nor poor, because I know enough. I am lucky to always know how to balance my life like that!

Runner-up Ngoc Hang: "Healing is sometimes returning to family"

My transition to vegetarianism - like my parents - was a decision based on personal awareness and experience. I have found that vegetarianism has many benefits, improving both physical and mental health.

In addition to being a vegetarian, I maintain a green lifestyle by participating in community activities, such as planting trees, spreading messages about environmental and animal protection...

People often call me "Vegetarian Runner-up". That is also a way for the audience to remember me and what I am doing. I hope this name will also be a bridge between me and people who share the same ideals, aiming for a sustainable life.

Over the years, patience has helped me develop a positive mindset and attitude towards life. I have learned to listen and understand myself before reacting. When I am stressed, I relieve myself by meditating, reading, or being alone. This helps me calm down and be ready to face difficult situations.

However, there are times when I feel the need to “heal”, when I often return to my family - where I can find protection and comfort. I like to talk to my parents, share my thoughts, joys and pressures.

The development of society makes people easily get caught up in the fast pace of life, lacking connection with the world around them. While true connection is not only through social networks, but also through direct presence and interaction with the people around them. I hope that young people do not get caught up in the fast-paced lifestyle and forget to enjoy the true values in their lives.
