Chau Ngoc Quang is one of three HAGL players present in the Vietnam national team during the October training session, alongside goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien and striker Nguyen Quoc Viet. This is a reward for Ngoc Quang's efforts, as the player born in 1996 fought persistently, contributing greatly to helping HAGL finish second in the table after 4 rounds.
In the Vietnam national team, Ngoc Quang is one of the best strikers, alongside Quang Hai, Van Toan, Hoang Duc, Hung Dung, Thai Son...
The HAGL player affirmed: “I know that the position I play has many outstanding names such as Van Toan and Quang Hai. I do not set a goal of how I have to compete, but I will always try my best in training with the highest spirit.”

Ngoc Quang emphasized that because he had only trained with coach Kim Sang-sik for one session, he could not yet evaluate the philosophy and playing style of the Korean coach. However, the 28-year-old player commented that Mr. Kim is a strategist who is "gentle and easy to approach with the players".
Ngoc Quang was promoted to the HAGL first team to participate in the V-League in 2016, but the journey of the player born in 1996 in the mountain town was full of hardships. Although in the 2017 season, Ngoc Quang played 25 matches, contributing greatly to helping the team stay in the league, but after that, this player was continuously loaned out.
While his teammates got a starting spot and then took turns being called up to the national team, Ngoc Quang "wandered" to Dak Lak, The Cong Viettel and then Hai Phong. At the end of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, this midfielder was tested by coach Park Hang-seo, and then the pandemic also took away Ngoc Quang's opportunity.
This season, Ngoc Quang has scored 2 goals in 3 matches, contributing to 33% of HAGL's goals to help the team reach the top. The return of the HAGL midfielder to the Vietnam national team is therefore very different. He is no longer in the shadow of anyone in the mountain town, nor is he content with being a reserve. Ngoc Quang has his own position and was called up thanks to his ability.
Ngoc Quang affirmed that HAGL players were instructed by Mr. Duc and technical director (GDKT) Vu Tien Thanh.
“Uncle Ba (Mr. Duc) and Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh told us to keep our spirits up and to give our all to the Vietnam team and the club,” Ngoc Quang revealed. “Since Mr. Vu Tien Thanh came to HAGL, he has always pushed the players to fight with 100% of their ability. We have made a lot of efforts to change.”
Chau Ngoc Quang added: "It would be great to play alongside Minh Vuong and his HAGL teammates on the national team. I miss Minh Vuong quite a bit."
