In addition to consumption through traditional channels, promotion and consumption connection through digital technology applications have been and are being affirmed as an effective solution to help businesses, cooperatives, and entities spread their brands in a borderless environment.
OCOP products of Hoang Hoa district are introduced at the Exhibition and Introduction Area of Thanh Hoa province's agricultural and food products in 2024.
After achieving 4-star OCOP certification for dried cordyceps products, whole cordyceps, and cordyceps capsules, Haca Green Agricultural Cooperative (Nghi Son town) has promoted the development of consumption channels by applying digital platforms such as livestreaming online sales on Facebook. Deputy Director of the Cooperative Trinh Duc Trong shared: “OCOP product certification has made it easier for products to be consumed through online channels. With a revenue of about 6 billion VND/year through the sale of 30,000 - 40,000 boxes of fresh cordyceps/month, up to 60% of revenue comes from Facebook and Zalo channels. The Cooperative plans to continue to invest in additional cold storage and automatic bottling systems, standardize the production process to continue to boost sales; especially continue to invest in more knowledgeable and experienced human resources to promote promotional activities and exploit advantages on e-commerce platforms”.
In fact, by taking advantage of digital technology and exploiting e-commerce channels early, many enterprises and cooperatives in the province have not only exploited stable consumption markets on e-commerce sites, sales websites and social networks, but also created opportunities for products to reach further in the market. Some products through e-commerce activities have created opportunities to boost exports to foreign markets such as shrimp paste and shrimp paste products of Le Gia exported to the markets of Russia, Korea, Taiwan and South Africa; pineapple, sweet corn, canned baby melon of Truong Tung and pineapple slices, canned baby melon of Tu Thanh Company have been exported to European countries, Russia, Korea, Australia; products processed from pennywort of Phong Cach Moi Joint Stock Company exported to the Korean market; lychee products of Ho Guom Song Am Company exported to the markets of England, Japan, etc.
Thanh Son Yen Production and Trading Company Limited (Hau Loc) has recently actively promoted and promoted its products through e-commerce platforms and social networking platforms. Through building an online distribution channel, it has contributed to bringing the company's products to consumers in and outside the province. By putting products on e-commerce platforms, it has contributed to promoting the consumption of safe agricultural products and food in the province and helping enterprises and cooperatives increase their average sales by 15 - 20% per year.
Currently, the provincial departments and branches have been supporting the updating, introduction and promotion of potential and advantageous products of districts, towns and cities in the province on the Thanh Hoa agricultural products introduction website. The agricultural sector coordinates with sectors such as industry and trade, information and communications to promote digital transformation, bringing OCOP products to e-commerce trading floors. Along with that, all levels and branches have also increased propaganda and guidance for businesses, cooperatives, farms and especially OCOP entities to install and use software to standardize production processes, helping to increase productivity, product quality, information transparency, encryption, QR stamping for traceability, promoting consumption and increasing the value of agricultural products.
