Completed 300 solidarity houses for poor households in border villages

Dien Bien TV - On the afternoon of April 8, in Nam Po district, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province held a conference to summarize the implementation of support for building Great Solidarity houses for poor households in border villages of 4 districts: Dien Bien, Muong Cha, Muong Nhe and Nam Po. Attending and giving a speech at the conference was comrade Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

As of March 31, after 5 months of implementation, all 300 houses, including: 122 traditional wooden houses, 118 iron-frame houses and 60 built houses have been completed. The area of ​​each house ranges from 36m2 - 102m2.

The total implementation cost is over 30.7 billion VND, of which the provincial "For the Poor" fund allocates 15 billion VND in support and over 13.6 billion VND is the amount of funds that families contribute and mobilize themselves.

During the process of building houses, poor and near-poor households in the border areas of the province also received active support from organizations, armed forces units, and local residents with nearly 4,500 working days and support in cash and house building materials worth over 2 billion VND.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the efforts of the Party Committees and authorities of the four border districts in implementing the construction of houses for poor households in border villages, ensuring the right subjects, publicity, democracy, transparency; in accordance with the aspirations, economic conditions and customs of poor households in the locality; commended the people and officers and soldiers of the armed forces for upholding their sense of responsibility and promptly supporting poor households in building new houses.

To continue implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households launched by the Prime Minister , the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels regularly disseminate the purpose and meaning of the program; thereby arousing the spirit of solidarity, support and sharing of the whole society; at the same time, so that each family and each poor household understands the meaning of the program and social security policies in building warm homes, so that they have the motivation to strive to build a more stable life.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the implementation of the program of building Great Solidarity houses for poor households in border villages.

Earlier on the morning of April 8, comrade Vu A Bang and representatives of provincial departments and branches attended and attached the Great Solidarity house sign to 2 poor households in Chan Nuoi village, Phin Ho commune, Nam Po district./.
