On the evening of May 11, at the square of the new political and administrative center of Hai Phong city (Northern Song Cam new urban area), the 2024 Red Flamboyant Festival is taking place.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, along with representatives of central ministries and branches, leaders of provinces and cities, embassies of several countries, non-governmental organizations and a large number of delegates and people are attending the festival.

The 2024 Red Flamboyant Festival with the theme "Hai Phong - Illuminating the Heritage Land" is held in conjunction with the 69th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024) and receiving the title of World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago.
The festival opened with the ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh Province) - Cat Ba Archipelago (Hai Phong City) as World Natural Heritage. This is the first inter-provincial world natural heritage of Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee affirmed that Hai Phong City has a long history and culture spanning through historical periods. The city also possesses famous landscapes, diverse ecosystems and majestic beauty bestowed by nature.
The 2024 Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Festival has a special mark, because Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province together welcomed the decision of UNESCO to recognize the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago as the first inter-provincial heritage of Vietnam.
With the historical - cultural - human traditions of Hai Phong, along with the cultural heritages that have been honored, it will be an important premise and motivation for the city to strive to lead the country in the cause of industrialization - modernization and truly "become the driving force for the development of the whole country".

The opening art program of the 2024 Red Flamboyant Festival with the theme "Hai Phong - Brightening the heritage land" is an opportunity to further promote the city's image to domestic and foreign tourists.
The art program took place for about 1.5 hours, including 3 art segments depicting the heroic historical past, the land and people of Hai Phong with rich historical and cultural traditions, about Cat Ba archipelago - a natural treasure at sea with extremely great values, along with strong aspirations for development that are opening up a promising future for the Port city.
Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports, said that the stage of the program was inspired by the image of a blooming royal poinciana flower, creating a sense of enjoyment from many different angles of a Hai Phong rising strongly, full of vitality with important marks and achievements throughout the journey of construction and development.
The unprecedented festival of light and poetry will bring to the audience and visitors special, unforgettable impressions and feelings about the land of the beautiful sea, rich in cultural identity, friendly and hospitable.
Art performances with the participation of hundreds of extras.
The program was staged with high artistic quality with the participation of leading artists and singers of Vietnam and the city including: Vietnam National Orchestra, Central Brass Band, People's Artist Khanh Hoa, People's Artist Thanh Lam; singers: Thu Phuong, Tung Duong, Phuong Linh, Pham Thu Ha, Isacc, Hoa Minzy, Erik..., Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, HT Dance Troupe, Mai Trang Dance Troupe, Children's Club Sao Tuoi Tho... with nearly 1,000 artists and actors.
Another thing worth mentioning is that with modern technology, the stage of the festival helps the audience sitting in any position to observe clearly. Particularly, the image of the phoenix wings is shaped to rise up, matching the modern buildings of the Hai Phong City Political - Administrative Center, bringing mutual harmony and impressive changes with many layers of performance from high to low, creating a sense of near and far, at the same time expressing the connection of the time axis: past, present, future of the land at the estuary.
The program also depicts the sparkling, proud beauty of the heritage area with the language of light (Lighting performance - lighting show programmed in combination with laser), 3D visual technology... The quintessence, the meticulousness, the perfection in each performance of the artists, the art troupes, all will be united to sublimate, shine, bringing to the delegates, audiences and visitors deep impressions and feelings about the beautiful, interesting and culturally rich, friendly and hospitable Port city.
The program will conclude with a 15-minute high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks display.
