The first school day after Tet holiday has been integrated by many schools in Ho Chi Minh City with cultural activities, entertainment, lucky money, and rewards to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for students and teachers, helping teachers and students quickly get back into the rhythm of studying after 2 weeks of Tet holiday.
At Minh Duc Secondary School (District 1), the flag salute ceremony began with a group dance to the song "The old story I forgot" performed by students from grades 8 and 9. The representative of the school board sent New Year wishes for good luck and success to all teachers and students of the school. After that, the Literature group presented performances with the theme "Remembering Uncle Ho in Spring" to help students remember the merits of generations of ancestors who sacrificed to brighten the spring of independence and freedom for the nation.
With a different approach, the teachers and students of class 9/3, Lac Hong Secondary School (District 10) had a first day of school with many fun games, reading poems and receiving lucky money. At Ha Huy Tap Secondary School (Binh Thanh District), all 104 staff members, teachers and employees received lucky money from the principal to convey the message of luck at the beginning of the year. Then, in the classrooms, teachers organized for students to participate in folk games such as picking democratic flowers, reading parallel sentences to receive lucky money from the homeroom teacher.
At the high school level, during the first schoolyard activity of the year, Tran Quang Khai High School (District 11) incorporated the image of Tao Quan - a symbolic image of Tet - into the scene with the theme "Safe and responsible use of the Internet". Many students said that thanks to the integration of the joyful atmosphere of Tet, the dialogues were responded to by many students and expressed their interest, thanks to which the message conveyed was easier to understand and remember.
At Dao Son Tay High School (Thu Duc City), in addition to lucky money and New Year greetings, the school also commended groups and individuals who achieved high achievements in sports competitions and actively participated in the spring festival at the school. Afterwards, students from different classes interacted with each other through the bamboo dance game in the school yard, helping them relieve the heavy feelings when returning to school after a long Tet holiday.
Particularly at the preschool and primary levels, due to the psychological characteristics of young students, schools have organized many quizzes with prizes, let students watch lion dances, and give lucky gifts at the beginning of the year to create a joyful atmosphere, helping them quickly get back into the rhythm of studying. At many school gates, spring miniatures with Chung cakes, apricot blossoms, and red parallel sentences will be kept until the end of the first week of the new school year to create an exciting atmosphere, helping students feel that "every day at school is a happy day", contributing to the successful implementation of the happy school model.
