Rap Viet season 3 "changes blood"
The hit show Rap Viet will officially return for its third season in the near future. The highlight of this year’s show is the complete change in the team of coaches, judges, and DJs. Meanwhile, the music production team has not been revealed, causing curiosity.
Rap Viet season 3 has 4 coach positions, instead of 3 like the previous two seasons.
Specifically, Thai VG, B Ray, BigDaddy and Andree Right Hand are the 4 coaches in the hot seat. This year, Rap Viet has not only 2 but 3 judges. JustaTee continues to hold one seat and the remaining two positions belong to Suboi and Karik.
Meanwhile, DJ Wukong will take over the DJ position for season 3. He will replace DJ Mie, becoming the one who contributes to completing the competition performances this year.
One of the equally important positions is MC, which is also being discussed by the public. After 2 seasons as host, although he does not have much expertise in rap and has caused controversy for overusing tears, Tran Thanh still fulfills this role perfectly.
He is said to be talkative, has a close way of talking to candidates and is willing to learn information related to Hiphop culture.
Up to now, the Organizing Committee has not revealed any information about this position, however, according to Hari Won - Tran Thanh's wife at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival on the evening of May 13, at this time, the male MC is busy recording Rap Viet. Therefore, it is highly likely that Tran Thanh will continue to take on the leading position of the Rap Viet season 3 program.
Tran Thanh is said to continue to take on the MC position at Rap Viet season 3.
What to expect from new elements?
After 2 seasons, Rap Viet has made a strong impression when it first brought rap and underground artists (the rapper community) to the mass audience.
In both seasons, the show attracted up to 3.5 billion views on digital platforms, becoming the most popular music show of 2020 and 2021.
Coaches and judges at Rap Viet season 2
The change of Rap Viet opens up many expectations and concerns. Whether Rap Viet season 3 has enough attraction to retain the audience like the success of season 1 and season 2 is a question that needs to be answered by the Organizing Committee. Especially the absence of the "empire" Spacespeakers.
Among them, Touliver is considered the “locomotive”. As Music Director, Toc Tien’s husband directs the music production for most of the performances and does the rehearsals for the performances before they go on air.
Producer duo SlimV and Tin Le worked together to produce most of the beats that left a strong impression throughout the two seasons.
Along with that, the absence of Binz, Rhymastic and Karik - the top 3 rappers in the Vietnamese rap world on the coaching bench also left many gaps. Especially Karik had accompanied Rap Viet from the first season and brought Seachains to become the champion of the program in the second season.
Therefore, whoever replaces them this season will inevitably face doubts and comparisons.
Thai VG is the 4th coach of Rap Viet season 3
The common point of the Rap Viet season 3 coaches is their novelty, even veteran characters in the underground world, working for more than 20 years abroad like Thai VG are also unfamiliar names to Vietnamese audiences.
However, the appearance of Thai VG, Andree Right Hand or BigDaddy certainly promises a completely different color compared to the previous 2 seasons.
Among them, Thai VG is not only the first person to start the rap wave in Vietnam, but he is also known as a "legendary" Asian rapper in America, respected and loved by many people in the underground world.
B Ray is a rapper who has all the qualifications to be a coach, from his rapping skills to his status in the industry. Andree is associated with the image of a "bad boy" rapper with a taste in music and fashion following the European and American rapper trend.
BigDaddy used to hold a similar position at King of Rap, although he didn't leave much of an impression, he is still a rapper with a place in the Vietnamese rap scene.
