Launching tourism products associated with tea culture and Hanoi

Thai Nguyen province has just launched a tourism product associated with tea culture and the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway route in response to the 2025 tourism stimulus program "Vietnam - Travel to love".

That is the remarkable information at the conference on promoting tourism in Thai Nguyen province, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen in coordination with Vietnam Railways Corporation and Hanoi Department of Tourism in Hanoi on the afternoon of April 1.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, Le Ngoc Linh, said: Since its inception in 1960, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway has always been a vital route for transporting goods. After a period of difficulties, this railway line was forced to stop operating and has recently been put back into operation.

Thai Nguyen is also the province with the largest tea output and area in the country. Tea trees and tea products are closely associated with the land and people of Thai Nguyen, and are honored as “The First Famous Tea”. The art of tea drinking has become a unique cultural feature of Thai Nguyen.

The resumption of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway line is expected to contribute to promoting and introducing attractive tourism potential and enhancing promotion and cooperation in building tourism products, attracting investment, and promoting the image of Thai Nguyen tourism to domestic and foreign tourists.

According to Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation Nguyen Chinh Nam, with the desire to restore the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen passenger train route, the Corporation is closely coordinating with Thai Nguyen province to bring this railway line back into effective operation, not only serving travel needs but also associated with tourism development and promoting Thai Nguyen tea culture.

Vietnam Railways Corporation will organize specialized tourist trains such as "Tea Ceremony", tea village sightseeing train; coordinate with travel companies, accommodation establishments, and tourist areas inside and outside the province to develop cooperation policies, bring tourists to Thai Nguyen by rail, and at the same time introduce tea products and typical OCOP products of Thai Nguyen at the station system and on digital platforms of the Railway industry...

Highly appreciating the railway tourism products and the cooperation in tourism development between Hanoi and Thai Nguyen in recent times, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu proposed a number of contents such as: Focusing on building and diversifying tourism products of localities; strengthening cooperation and promotion; ensuring a favorable business environment for enterprises and safety and friendliness for tourists...

Within the framework of the conference, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen also informed about the Thai Nguyen Culture, Sports and Tourism Week 2025 with the theme "Experience the land of tea with strong identity". The program opened at 7:45 p.m. on April 26, at Van Xuan Square (Pho Yen city) with the highlight being the art program "Thai Nguyen aspires to rise".
