City leaders visit the Vietnamese Association of Champasak province

On the afternoon of April 3, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi and a delegation of Da Nang City visited the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province.

To date, the Vietnamese community in Champasak province has more than 1,100 households with nearly 5,000 people. People here always uphold the spirit of solidarity, preserve national cultural identity, share and support each other in all aspects of life. The Vietnamese community has also been harmonious, well implementing local policies and laws. Thereby, it has made an important contribution to fostering the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos as well as between localities of the two countries.

On behalf of the city leaders, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi sent warm and happy traditional Bunpimay New Year wishes to the Vietnamese community living in Champasak province. Informing about the development situation of Da Nang, the Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee also emphasized the important role of the Vietnamese community in fostering and developing the special friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also said that Da Nang city always has good feelings and cares for and supports the Vietnamese community in the Central and Southern provinces of Laos, including those in Champasak province.

On this occasion, Da Nang city leaders provided 240 million VND in support to pay salaries for Vietnamese language teachers at the Laos-Vietnam Friendship School; and 50 million VND in support to help people celebrate the traditional Bunpimay New Year./.
