On January 3, the Department of Statistics of Hung Yen province held a press conference to announce: In 2024, the total product in Hung Yen province (GRDP) will increase by 7.70%, the economic scale of the province will reach 159,844 billion VND, GRDP per capita will reach 121.27 million VND, an increase of 8.81 million VND compared to 2023.

The economic structure of Hung Yen province continues to shift towards increasing the proportion of industry, construction and services. Industry and construction account for 62.66%; trade and services account for 24.85%; agriculture, forestry and fishery account for 6.72%; product taxes minus product subsidies account for 5.78%.

In addition to the general structural shift of the economy, there are also strong shifts within each region and economic sector. The agricultural sector has transformed the structure of crops and livestock towards improving quality and efficiency; continuing to convert low-economically efficient crop areas to perennial crops and fruit trees combined with aquaculture for high economic efficiency.
