Hoi An bustling event to celebrate homeland liberation day

In addition to propaganda work on mass media, organizing specialized political activities; the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, sectors and localities organized meetings with former leaders and those who participated in the resistance war through the periods. The city also organized visits to localities that had many contributions to Hoi An during the resistance war.

Having participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country since the age of 16, Ms. Tran Thi Dan - Guerrilla Team K5, Cam Chau Ward (Hoi An City) shared: “I am very proud and honored to be a child of Hoi An. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation, I was very happy to meet my comrades who participated in the resistance war. I believe that this is an opportunity for our people to remember the heroic years of our homeland, to remember the merits of those who sacrificed to gain independence and freedom today”.

In Hoi An, traditional education and propaganda work is organized through activities: "Hoi An Youth Following the Heroic Tradition" Camp; lighting candles in gratitude at the city's Martyrs' Cemetery; the program "Finding Red Addresses" and cultural and sports activities.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Van - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee said that through a series of activities to express gratitude and honor the great contributions of all classes of people in the revolutionary struggle and homeland construction, at the same time, introduce the great achievements of Hoi An, Quang Nam after 50 years of liberation.

Thereby encouraging all classes of people to promote the spirit of solidarity, the desire to rise up, enthusiastically compete in creative labor, contributing to building Hoi An to develop more and more.

After 50 years of liberation, the Party Committee, government and people of Hoi An have continuously strived to build their homeland, achieving many important achievements in all areas of social life; the economy has grown rapidly and sustainably; culture and society have many improvements...

In 2024, Hoi An City's total budget revenue will reach nearly 1,800 billion VND. The biggest mark this year is the total number of tourists to the city reaching nearly 5 million, of which 70% are international visitors.

With outstanding achievements in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism and in building the homeland after the liberation day, the cadres, soldiers and people of Hoi An were honored to receive many noble titles such as: Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period, Hoi An Ancient Town was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An was included in the list of World Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO, Hoi An joined the global network of creative cities.
