National Assembly meets online to question and answer questions

BTO-On March 18, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue chaired the 31st session of the National Assembly Standing Committee to organize questions and answers on groups of issues under the fields of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The question and answer session was held at the Dien Hong Conference Room, National Assembly House, and was broadcast live to 63 points of National Assembly delegations in provinces and cities.

At Binh Thuan bridge, Mr. Dang Hong Sy - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, National Assembly delegate of Binh Thuan province chaired, attended by representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Pursuant to the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, Regulation 334 of the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) on organizing a number of supervisory activities of the National Assembly, the NASC will annually organize questioning sessions at the March and August sessions. At the 6th session, the National Assembly questioned 21 Ministers and heads of sectors on issues related to 21 areas mentioned in the National Assembly's resolutions on questioning and thematic supervision. The groups of questions covered most areas of socio-economic life. Therefore, the selection of the group of questions at this session was carefully considered. Based on the synthesis of information sources and proposals from the National Assembly delegations, reviewing the scope of questioning at the 6th session and sessions and meetings since the beginning of the term, based on the actual situation, and at the same time to create conditions for all Ministers and heads of sectors to answer questions, the National Assembly Standing Committee decided to choose to question groups of issues under the state management responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at this session.

In the morning, under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, National Assembly deputies questioned the Minister of Finance on the following groups of issues: Management and supervision of insurance business activities and service activities in the field of life insurance business; Appraisal and licensing of companies providing financial services; implementation of laws on lottery, betting, casino and electronic games with prizes; Customs procedures, customs inspection and supervision; prevention and combat of smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across borders; Price management and price determination of goods and services in the list of goods and services priced by the State.

In the afternoon, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh chaired the question-and-answer session with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, focusing on the following groups of issues: Protection of Vietnamese citizens abroad; violations of the law by Vietnamese citizens abroad and foreigners in Vietnam; protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese fishermen; The current situation of implementing bilateral and multilateral agreements and solutions to promote the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation agreements; support for expanding export markets, supporting Vietnamese enterprises to avoid fraud; Activities to promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism to the world and visa exemption for citizens of other countries entering Vietnam to develop tourism; Management, arrangement, consolidation, improvement of qualifications and organizational capacity of the diplomatic apparatus (including Vietnamese representative agencies abroad); solutions to strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity in diplomatic activities.

Assessing the 31st Session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly organized questions and answers on groups of issues in the fields of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue assessed: The fields of work that the Standing Committee of the National Assembly focused on questioning at this session have achieved many progressive results, making important contributions to the overall achievements of foreign affairs and diplomacy in recent years.
