The "poisonous wind" of the Ha Mon cult was eliminated, and the villages returned to a peaceful life. With the motto of "listening to the people, speaking so that the people understand, making the people believe", the authorities of Kon Tum province continue to pay attention and create conditions to help those who have mistakenly believed in the Ha Mon cult to integrate into the community. Thereby, fostering the great solidarity of the people, together building the locality to develop more and more.

After reintegrating into the community, A Kai actively worked extra jobs to earn extra income for his family. After reintegrating into the community, A Kai actively worked extra jobs to earn extra income for his family.

The Ha Mon cult was eliminated, Kon Tum province no longer had any followers of the Ha Mon cult, and the areas invaded by the Ha Mon cult turned a new page.

When the "old wound" heals

For Lieutenant Colonel Dang Minh Thang, Chief of Dak La Commune Police, Dak Ha District (former Captain of Dak Ha District Police Security Team), who was a grassroots soldier, directly participating in the fight to eradicate the Ha Mon cult, he was truly happy with the changes in Kon Gu 1 village, Ngok Wang commune, Dak Ha district.

“In the early days when the Ha Mon cult was eliminated from the lives of ethnic minority households in Kon Gu 1 village, we were still worried. Because some households still felt inferior and could not integrate into the community. All levels, sectors, localities and functional forces continued to promote propaganda for the people of Kon Gu 1 village to warmly welcome errant households to join together to build a united community and village,” Lieutenant Colonel Dang Minh Thang beamed.

Following the footsteps of the Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of Kon Gu 1 Village, A Dram, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Minh Thang and I walked on the clean and beautiful village road, which had been completely concreted. As we walked, Mr. A Dram happily chatted: The households that were previously gullible have now completely changed their perceptions and thoughts. Everyone believes in the leadership of the Party and the State, enthusiastically participating in programs and activities launched by the locality.

As if to prove his words, Mr. A Dram took us to visit the family of Mr. A Hak (Kon Gu 1 village), one of those who had mistakenly believed in heresy. As soon as we entered the house, we saw Mr. Hak working hard in his small garden.

Seeing us, Mr. A Hak smiled and said happily: I am clearing the garden to plant trees. Yesterday, the commune cadres came to the village to encourage households to renovate their mixed gardens and make effective use of available land. I found this work very interesting, so I immediately responded and followed suit.

Although he is old, Mr. A Hak is still actively developing the economy . He currently grows 3 sao of rice and more than 1 hectare of coffee. In addition, he also raises a pair of breeding cows. Joy has come to his family when recently, the pair of cows gave birth to a calf, contributing to increasing the family's income.

As for Mr. A Kai (Kon Gu 1 village), he used to be one of those gullible people who believed the bad guys and followed the Ha Mon cult. In the past, A Kai used to believe and follow the saying "just pray and you will have a rich and comfortable life". However, when he realized that it was impossible, A Kai actively worked and earned money to take care of his children's education and develop the family economy.

Seeing Lieutenant Colonel Dang Minh Thang, A Kai waved his hand in a friendly greeting. Mr. A Dram also quickly introduced A Kai to me: A Kai is currently a worker at the Ngok Wang Rubber Farm. At night, A Kai often goes to tap rubber latex. During the day, when he has free time, A Kai works as a bricklayer to earn extra income. In addition, he also grows 300 coffee trees and 1.5 sao of rice to develop the family economy.

Secretary of the Ngok Commune Party Committee Wang A Ho Khanh assessed: The households that made mistakes in Kon Gu 1 village have completely put aside their past mistakes. Escaping the Ha Mon cult, they actively strengthen solidarity in the community, working together to build the locality to develop more and more.

New life on lands swept by "poisonous winds"

Similar to Kon Gu 1 village, the lives of 53 households/200 people in Giang Lo II village have also received positive changes. Although located in the border area, there are still certain difficulties, but the lives of the people here are getting better and better. In particular, the people actively responded to the Campaign "Changing the thinking and working style of ethnic minorities, helping ethnic minorities to rise up and escape poverty sustainably" launched by the locality.

Up to now, ethnic minorities in the area have gradually eliminated backward customs, no longer practice shifting cultivation, and encroach on forests for farming. Many households have boldly borrowed capital from social policy banks to invest in developing production and livestock; proactively registered to participate in agricultural extension training courses and rural vocational training courses to gain knowledge to do business, increase income, and build an increasingly stable life.

Or in Dak Wok Yop village, Ho Moong commune, Sa Thay district, a “new day” has also been welcomed. People who once went astray have now returned to integrate into community life, receiving support for resettlement housing, domestic water and land for production.

All levels, sectors, localities and functional forces of Kon Tum province have paid attention to promptly implementing the regimes and policies of the Party and State for ethnic minorities in the area. In particular, the units have focused on deploying support resources from the National Target Programs, which have helped the people here have a stable life, the appearance of the village has changed significantly. Currently, all households in the village have areas of industrial crops, fruit trees and livestock and poultry. Up to now, Dak Wok Yop village has only 7 poor households and 19 near-poor households, the village has completed 10/10 criteria for building new rural areas.

It can be seen that from gullible people who mistakenly followed the Ha Mon cult, up to now, the households have become energetic, hard-working people, building a stable life. The dedication and efforts of all levels, sectors, localities and functional forces have greatly contributed to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State, thereby building a united and strong political system, together building the province to develop more and more.
