The National Assembly elected Mr. Le Minh Tri as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.

On August 26, at the 8th Extraordinary Session, the 15th National Assembly carried out the process of electing the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court. Mr. Le Minh Tri - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and deputy of the 15th National Assembly was introduced to the National Assembly to elect the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term.

Accordingly, the National Assembly elected the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court by secret ballot. The resolution to elect Mr. Le Minh Tri as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term was passed by the National Assembly with 438/438 delegates voting in favor (accounting for 91.06% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

According to the provisions of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, after being elected by the National Assembly, takes the Oath Ceremony before the National Assembly.

The new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court took an oath of allegiance to the Fatherland, the People and the Constitution as prescribed after being elected to the position.

“Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and voters nationwide, I – Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: To be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; to strive to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the People” – Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Le Minh Tri swore before the National Assembly.

 

Mr. Le Minh Tri was born in 1960; Hometown: Tan Thong Hoi commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.

He is Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee; Member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee; National Assembly Delegate of the 14th and 15th terms.

Before being elected by the National Assembly to his new position, he held the following positions: Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
