Not only convenient for medical examination and treatment when replacing health insurance cards, with the active implementation of the police force and the coordination of facilities in many different industries and professions, chip-embedded ID cards are increasingly promoting their utilities in many areas of social life.
Pusan Ha Long Hotel (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City) has 28 rooms. During peak times such as the recent April 30-May 1 holiday, there were times during the day when many groups of guests arrived at the same time. Previously, every time a guest checked in, Mr. Vu Xuan Hai (hotel receptionist) had to manually enter each guest's information into the accommodation notification software, so sometimes there were inevitable mistakes, leading to the system being frozen or overloaded.
Over the past month, Mr. Hai's work has been reduced, because he only needs to scan the QR code on the chip-embedded CCCD through the scanner, and the guest's information will be automatically updated to the automatic accommodation notification system. The problems of the old system have been resolved.
Pusan Ha Long Hotel is one of 10 hotels in the province (including Ha Long, Mong Cai, Van Don) selected by the Provincial Police to pilot the first phase of the automatic accommodation notification system, from the beginning of April 2023. To date, the province has had 15 accommodation establishments deploying this system (expanding to 5 more establishments in Dam Ha and Hai Ha districts).
This is a software developed by the Ministry of Public Security, applied to Vietnamese citizens. Through scanning the QR code on the chip-embedded CCCD, the system will provide online data to the national database on population, clearly stating the check-in and check-out times of guests. Therefore, it effectively serves the police force when it is necessary to track down and identify related subjects when investigating and solving cases.
Not only in the field of accommodation, chip-embedded ID cards are also gradually maximizing their utility in the banking sector. BIDV Bank, Quang Ninh branch, has just put into operation a multi-function ATM (CRM), completely overcoming the disadvantages (slow, error-prone) of the old machine. With this new ATM, instead of having to carry many types of documents, or carry out complicated procedures at the transaction counter, people can withdraw, deposit money, and transfer money using only a chip-embedded ID card. Having an additional authentication mechanism by face and fingerprint when using a chip-embedded ID card to conduct financial transactions at ATMs also helps to increase the level of security many times over.
Ms. Luong Thi Huyen Trang (Cao Thang Ward, Ha Long City) said: It only took me 1-2 minutes to complete the transaction of withdrawing money using the chip-embedded ID card at the ATM, I tried to deposit money, the process was also very fast. So from now on, I don't need to bring my bank card, nor go to the transaction counter during office hours, waste time waiting, and fill out the form. Personally, I find it extremely convenient.
The security mode of the chip-embedded CCCD when making transactions at ATMs is higher than that of a regular ATM card, because the information on the security chip must be compared and guaranteed to match the cardholder's information. When users make transactions, the camera system will capture the customer's face with the photo on the CCCD to authenticate and connect to the account opened at the bank.
Quang Ninh is one of the pioneering localities in the country in implementing Project 06, with many solutions to promote the issuance of chip-embedded ID cards and level 2 electronic identification authentication.
According to Senior Lieutenant Bui Viet Duc, Project 06 specialist, Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Provincial Police), up to now, Quang Ninh has deployed the chip-embedded CCCD QR code authentication system at notary offices to serve the authentication of information when making and notarizing contracts as well as related transactions. In addition, the police force is also promoting the implementation of the process of putting the chip-embedded CCCD QR code scanning system into operation at ports, wharves, and tourist areas, eliminating the traditional form of printing paper tickets, both protecting the environment and managing visitors in and out accurately, quickly, and conveniently. Through the pilot implementation at a number of accommodation establishments and banks, the Provincial Police will continue to expand throughout the province to serve people better and better, promoting the utility of the chip-embedded CCCD.
