Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province Le Van Dung has just signed and issued a plan to streamline the number of civil servants and employees receiving salaries from the state budget by 2026 in administrative agencies and public service units of the provincial government (provincial and district levels).

Accordingly, the roadmap for the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to reduce the administrative staff by 2026 with the goal of reducing at least 10% of the career staff and 5% of the civil servant staff compared to the staff assigned in 2021.

The Provincial People's Committee said that the central civil servant payroll assigned by 2026 will be reduced to 2,998 payrolls compared to 2021 (with 3,156 payrolls) - a reduction of 158 payrolls (equivalent to a 5% reduction).

To achieve the goal, the provincial People's Committee has deployed the following roadmap for streamlining: In the 2023-2024 period, 30 positions were reduced according to plan; in 2025, 3,096 positions were assigned, a reduction of 30 positions compared to 2024; in 2026, 2,998 positions were assigned, a reduction of 98 positions compared to 2025.

Regarding the civil servant payroll, the Provincial People's Committee sets a target of reducing it to 26,903 payrolls by 2026, a reduction of 2,989 payrolls (equivalent to 10%) compared to 2022 (29,892 payrolls).

Roadmap for reducing civil servant payroll: In the 2023-2024 period, 2,194 payrolls were reduced; in 2025, 27,661 payrolls were assigned, a decrease of 37 payrolls compared to 2024; in 2026, 26,903 payrolls were assigned, a decrease of 758 payrolls compared to 2025.
