Quang Binh: New names of communes and wards need to be easy to identify and create consensus among the people.

On March 26, the Steering Committee for the arrangement and reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Binh province held its second meeting.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee Le Ngoc Quang chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were: Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Hai Chau, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong, Deputy Head of the Standing Steering Committee; together with members of the Steering Committee and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee requested districts, towns and cities to continue researching and developing plans to arrange commune-level administrative units in the area; in which the plan needs to pay attention to careful and thorough research, carefully considering traditional, historical and cultural factors for the name and headquarters of the new administrative unit.

Regarding the name of the new administrative unit, it needs to be easy to identify, short, easy to read, easy to remember, promote local advantages, be consistent with the integration trend, and create consensus among the people.

In addition, the determination of the administrative-political center of the new administrative unit must have favorable synchronous economic-social infrastructure, especially a developed transportation system, easily connecting with the inner-provincial areas, large cities, economic centers or with the marine space system; consistent with the orientation of socio-economic development, ensuring harmony and rationality, avoiding imbalance between administrative units when merging, ensuring the maintenance of national defense and security.

The new administrative center must ensure quick and stable operation after the arrangement.

In particular, unifying awareness, creating consensus among local people; grasping people's thoughts and aspirations; contributing to preserving and promoting historical, traditional, cultural values ​​and people's solidarity towards the new administrative unit after the arrangement.

Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang noted that localities need to closely follow the conclusions, policies and orientations of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, and the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and specifically define the work contents, deadlines, completion progress and responsibilities of provincial and local agencies to ensure timely, synchronous, unified, quality and effective implementation.
