Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The province is currently implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM). The program has many different criteria, in which the environment is an important criterion to build the countryside into a green-clean-beautiful and livable countryside.
Implementing the program, clearly recognizing the importance of environmental protection, all levels, sectors and organizations have focused on leading and directing the entire population to effectively implement environmental protection work in building new rural areas. In particular, women's unions at all levels play a core role in environmental protection work in households and in the movement to build new rural areas. Through organizing competitions to propagate, educate and raise awareness of individuals and households in environmental protection and building new rural areas. At the same time, it creates a useful and meaningful playground for cadres and women's union members, and at the same time propagates to the people to respond to the campaign to make the world cleaner.
The contest focuses on contents such as learning about the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 and decrees guiding the implementation of the Law on the responsibility of individuals and households in environmental protection; instructions on implementing environmental criteria in the national criteria set for building new rural areas at all levels in the period of 2021 - 2025 and the "3 clean" content of the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" of the Women's Union associated with the movement to build new rural areas. The contestants are officials and members of the Women's Union of 4 districts striving to reach the finish line of new rural districts by 2025, including: Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh.
The contest is a practical activity in response to the Clean Up the World Campaign 2023 with the message "Join hands for a cleaner world".
Participating in the contest, 4 teams went through the rounds including greeting, folk dance, joining forces and fashion show.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, and 2 Third Prizes to the participating teams, of which the First Prize belonged to the Hai Lang District Women's Union team.
