Da Nang women have sponsored, supported and cared for 923 orphans.

This is the data given at the 8th Conference, term XIV, summarizing the work of the Association in 2024 and deploying tasks in 2025, organized by the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Da Nang city on December 27.

At the Conference, Chairwoman of the Da Nang Women's Union Hoang Thi Thu Huong said that in 2024, the Union achieved many important results, exceeding the set targets. The Union signed 11 joint programs with agencies and organizations, aiming to successfully organize many city-level events and carry out the Union's political tasks.

The Women's Development Support Fund has disbursed VND338,234 billion to 16,612 disadvantaged women's households, with loans ranging from VND20 to VND40 million, contributing to improving their lives and creating business and production opportunities.

In particular, the orphan sponsorship program continues to achieve impressive results with 273 orphans being sponsored in 2024, bringing the total number of sponsored children to 923. The program is truly a bridge of love - bringing kind hearts closer and accompanying orphans, towards a better future for orphans.

Thus, after 3 years of implementation, the “Godmother” program to support and care for orphans has spread its meaning and humane values, clearly demonstrating the qualities, kindness and tolerance of Vietnamese women. The association aims to have 1,000 orphans in the city sponsored by 2025.

Determining the theme for 2025 as "Promoting the role of women in building a clean and strong Party and political system, ready to enter a new era, an era of national growth", the City Women's Union focuses on many key tasks.

In particular, the Association will develop the application software "Trusted Address" to support the prevention and response to violence and abuse against women and children; build or repair 10 shelters; support 100 means of livelihood for disadvantaged women; achieve the goal of 1,000 orphans being adopted and promote the spread of 10,000 good deeds of women's association members.
