At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha congratulated the success of the G77 and China Summit, saying that the topic of science, technology and innovation is one of the keys to solving current world problems; and thanked the Cuban side for the warm and respectful reception for the Vietnamese delegation.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people of Vietnam will never forget Cuba's wholehearted support during Vietnam's struggle for national liberation, always value, preserve and are determined to further deepen the traditional relationship of solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, stand side by side in supporting the just revolutionary cause of the Cuban people and will continue to make efforts with Cuba to overcome current difficulties.
The Deputy Prime Minister believes that the Cuban people are extremely loyal, resilient, brave, hardworking, and intelligent, and will certainly overcome current difficulties to successfully carry out the revolutionary cause.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that in the coming time, the two sides need to continue to cooperate closely to create favorable conditions for businesses to strengthen trade and investment relations to bring economic relations commensurate with the good political relations between the two countries, in accordance with the direction and wishes of the two countries' senior leaders.

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz said that Cuba has many friends in the world, but always considers Vietnam a blood brother; highly appreciates and thanks Vietnam for its assistance, especially the provision of rice to Cuba through both aid and trade contracts, especially in the context that Cuba is facing many difficulties due to the recent US embargo.

He assessed that Cuba-Vietnam relations are developing very well, as demonstrated by the visit to Cuba in April 2023 by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the visit to Vietnam later this month by the Cuban National Assembly Chairman to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the visit of Leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of South Vietnam in Quang Tri province (1973-2023).
Agreeing to direct ministries and sectors to coordinate more closely with Vietnam to promote investment and trade relations between the two countries, especially in areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and infrastructure construction, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz said that the two sides have sufficient conditions to move to a new stage of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Also on September 16, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Cuban Minister of Construction Rene Mesa Villafana and visited the Vimariel industrial park invested by Viglacera Group to learn about and discuss a number of measures to further improve the efficiency of Vietnamese enterprises in Cuba.
