Cultural industry (CNVH) is a new economic sector, requiring appropriate steps with specific breakthrough mechanisms and policies, meeting development requirements, becoming a key economic sector of the province. Possessing many relics and cultural heritages, Hung Yen has great potential to develop the cultural industry and create cultural and tourism products and services with strong Pho Hien identity.
According to statistics, the province has more than 1,800 relics of all kinds, including 4 relics and relic clusters ranked at special national level, 177 relics ranked at national level (the province ranks 3rd in the country in terms of the number of relics ranked at national level), 280 relics ranked at provincial level; 8 artifacts and groups of artifacts recognized as national treasures; 8 national intangible cultural heritages; more than 500 festivals; 147 traditional craft villages and thousands of valuable documents, artifacts and antiques. Based on the potential and advantages of cultural heritage resources, the province has focused on promoting the exploitation of tourism products in the direction of specific tourism products. These are spiritual cultural tourism associated with Red River tours and road routes; traditional folk festival tourism; ecological, agricultural and community tourism. The products of Hung Yen traditional craft villages have a special attraction because each craft village is associated with a system of historical and cultural relics. Hung Yen province also has many specialties and OCOP products such as: Tieu Quan chicken sausage, Phuong Tuong braised frog, Dong Tao chicken, sardines, banh rang bua, bun thang, Ban sauce, lotus seed longan sweet soup... attracting tourists to experience the culinary culture.
On that basis, the province's sectors and localities have coordinated with agencies and enterprises to successfully organize festivals, trade promotion conferences, and connect supply and demand of goods to promote the culture, people and products of Hung Yen to domestic and foreign customers. At the same time, promote cooperation in tourism development with provinces and cities across the country; sign links and cooperate with tourism enterprises in the region to develop intra-provincial tours such as: Tour to discover the land and people of Longan (learn about famous people of Hung Yen - Dai Dong ancient village - ancient Pho Hien trading port); homestay tourism (discover the land of Van Giang, Khoai Chau: Duong Canh orange garden, rice cake craft village, flower and ornamental plant growing village, ecological longan garden); Pho Hien cultural features (Xich Dang Temple of Literature - Chuong Pagoda - Mau Temple - Communal House, Hien Pagoda - Ancestral Longan Tree)... Develop inter-provincial tourism programs and routes such as: Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Hung Yen - Ha Nam - Ninh Binh route; Specialized festival and spiritual tourism routes: Pho Hien (Hung Yen) - Huong Pagoda (Hanoi) - Tam Chuc Ba Sao (Ha Nam)...
In the field of performing arts, some art forms such as: Trong Quan, Cheo, Ca Tru... have been preserved and exploited for performance at festivals, on itineraries and tourist destinations in the province, becoming attractive cultural products that contribute to enriching the experience of tourists when coming to Hung Yen. The province also coordinates with units and businesses to organize film, music and entertainment production programs associated with the traditional culture of localities. In 2024 and the first 3 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Hung Yen is estimated to reach over 2 million, with total revenue from tourism estimated at over 1,200 billion VND, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the province.
Besides cultural tourism and performing arts, other fields such as handicrafts, advertising, fine arts activities, photography, and exhibitions have also achieved important results, initially generating revenue and developing in line with modern trends.
Comrade Pham Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: To continue promoting tourism development associated with cultural industry, the province focuses on building and perfecting mechanisms and policies to improve business conditions for cultural services, attracting reputable and experienced enterprises to invest in complex tourism service areas, large-scale and key tourism service projects of the province; developing qualified human resources for the cultural industry; enhancing the application of science and technology in creating, producing, disseminating and preserving cultural products.
