Previously, a female Thai tourist complained on social media about booking a car with a freelance driver (not through the app).
The two sides agreed that the driver would pick up guests at the hotel and take them to visit Linh Ung Pagoda, Ba Na Hills (Da Nang) and Hoi An (Quang Nam).
The agreed price was 1.5 million VND, but at the end of the trip, the driver asked the tourist to pay 3.8 million VND (about 5,000 Thai baht), which is 2.5 times higher than the agreed price.
Receiving information on social networks from the Da Nang Grab Drivers Association, the Department of Transport and the Department of Tourism verified that the car in question had license plate 43A-309...
Accordingly, the Department of Transport invited the driver of vehicle with license plate 43A - 309.27, Mr. TAT - a member of the Cung Kinh Doanh Cooperative (the driver and vehicle that tourists complained about) to come to work.
It is known that Cung Kinh Doanh Cooperative put into operation car with license plate 43A - 309.2... driven by driver TAT to participate in transportation business under contract.
However, from November 6 to 10, this driver transported two Thai tourists without a transportation contract and passenger list as required.
For the above actions, Mr. TAT was fined 1.5 million VND and had his driving license revoked for 2 months. Cung Kinh Doanh Cooperative was fined 11 million VND and had its right to use the contract vehicle badge for car with license plate 43A - 309.2... revoked for 2 months.
