Records at the scene show that construction units are mobilizing maximum equipment, human resources and materials to speed up the progress of underground telecommunications, drainage, fiber optic cables, sidewalk paving and road surface stone pouring. Mr. Nguyen Duc Nam, Deputy Director of the City Priority Infrastructure Investment and Construction Management Board (investor) said that Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To are two central roads with high traffic density and bustling business activities, so the construction process has encountered many difficulties. To ensure progress, contractors mobilize maximum human resources, working continuously in 3 shifts/day, including weekends, holidays and Tet.

In addition, the unit closely coordinated with the contractor and local authorities to carry out mass mobilization work, specifically notify each household about the construction plan, traffic diversion plan as well as answer questions. Traffic safety measures such as signs, traffic lights, and barriers were also fully arranged, helping to minimize the impact on daily life and business on the route. In particular, households were notified 2-3 days in advance about the construction time in front of their houses to proactively arrange their work. Thanks to that, the project received high consensus from the people.

Representatives of the joint venture of contractors Hanoi Water Works Construction Company and Nhat Huy Construction Company said that thanks to the efforts in construction and good mobilization of people right from the start of construction (September 2024), the construction progress has exceeded the set plan.

According to the contract, the project is expected to be completed in August 2025, but up to now, the Hung Vuong road section from Ngo Gia Tu intersection to Bach Dang has been completed, facilitating people's travel and business. From Ngo Gia Tu - Hung Vuong intersection to the end of Ly Thai To street, the joint venture has mobilized maximum manpower, working 3 shifts/day. In addition, there are 7 other units implementing related items such as underground electricity, water supply, telecommunications, etc.

The City Priority Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board informed that according to the signed contract, the project to upgrade and renovate the two Hung Vuong - Ly Thai To routes is expected to be completed on August 22, 2025. However, the unit and contractors are determined to speed up the progress, striving to complete it 3 months ahead of schedule. “After nearly 8 months of construction, the project has reached more than 70% of the workload, especially in the “final days”, the atmosphere at the construction site is extremely exciting, workers and machines are working continuously day and night. Our goal is to complete it 3 months ahead of schedule so that people can soon stabilize their business and daily life. The construction is being carried out urgently but still ensuring the quality of the project”, affirmed Mr. Nguyen Duc Nam.

Through research, after a period of construction, the project to renovate and upgrade Hung Vuong Street (from Ngo Gia Tu - Hung Vuong intersection to the end of Bach Dang Street) has been completed, bringing a spacious and modern appearance. Not only improving traffic infrastructure, the project also contributes to promoting the regional economy, creating favorable conditions for business and trading activities.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, owner of a fashion store on Hung Vuong Street, excitedly said: “Since the road was upgraded, the sidewalks are cleaner, there are no more tangled electric wires, and there are more customers coming to shop. Business is much more favorable, and revenue has also increased significantly.” Sharing the same joy, Ms. Tran Thi Hoa, a long-time resident on Hung Vuong Street, said: “Before, the road was degraded, dusty, and inconvenient to travel. Now, the road is wide, airy, and bright, and everyone is satisfied. Real estate prices here have also increased sharply, and many people are looking to buy, proving that this area is increasingly developing.”

Mr. Le Van Minh, owner of a motorbike shop on Ly Thai To Street, said: “In the past, Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To streets were two bustling business streets, but in recent years they have seriously deteriorated. The roads are bumpy, the drainage system is overloaded, and every time it rains heavily, it floods. The shabby landscape has a significant impact on business. We have been waiting for this upgrade project for a long time. Hopefully the project will continue to be accelerated and completed soon so that customers can return, the streets will be bustling as before, and business will also improve.”

According to the City Priority Infrastructure Investment and Construction Management Board, with a total investment of nearly VND97 billion, the project to upgrade and renovate Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To streets has a total length of more than 1.9km, passing through 5 wards in Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts. When completed, the project will not only contribute to improving traffic infrastructure but also increase aesthetics, attract tourism, and promote the city's economic development.

Continue to implement the project to improve the infrastructure of 4 central roads

In order to continue implementing the project to renovate the infrastructure of 4 central routes, the City Priority Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Management Board informed that from April 10, contractors will renovate the drainage system and underground cables on Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem routes. The project has a total length of 6.94km on 4 routes, an area of 143,130m², keeping the current width of the road surface and sidewalks. The main items include: renovating the drainage system; undergrounding electricity - telecommunications; upgrading lighting; paving sidewalks with granite; planting trees, relocating water supply, installing fire hydrants, etc.
