Promoting the role of youth in economic development

Representatives of the Red River Delta provinces and cities including Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Hai Duong attended.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen informed about the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2023 of the capital, which continued to maintain growth. In particular, the city focused on directing the acceleration of projects to renovate, upgrade, and expand national highways, regional connectivity projects, key projects of the city and highly focused on the Ring Road 4 Project - Hanoi Capital Region, expected to start construction on June 25 at 4 locations in the city. Administrative reform has changed positively, administrative discipline and order have been improved, in which the breakthrough is the application of information technology in handling public services.

Along with that, the work of Party building, rectification and political system building has had many positive changes. Notably, the City Party Committee issued Project No. 20-DA/TU, dated October 24, 2022, on improving the quality of Party membership admission in the Hanoi City Party Committee in the new period, in which attention is paid to admitting high school students, university and college students in the city.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen emphasized that through common activities in the cluster, the provincial and municipal Youth Unions will create close ties, jointly organize many meaningful cluster-level activities and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Central Youth Union; at the same time, create a close connection between the Party Committees of the provinces and cities in the cluster, thereby having more exchange activities, twinning, supporting and developing together...

“The conference will contribute to sharing experiences and new issues for the Hanoi Youth Union, together carrying out the tasks of the Red River Delta region set for localities, including the responsible role of the young generation. Thereby, contributing to concretizing the effective implementation of Resolution No. 30-NQ/TU of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta region to 2030, with a vision to 2045”, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee expressed.

Reporting the results, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, Head of the Red River Delta Cluster Chu Hong Minh said that, closely following the theme of the 2023 work "The year of digital transformation of the Youth Union's activities", the Youth Union work and youth and children's movements in the first 6 months of 2023 of the provinces and cities of the Red River Delta Cluster have achieved many outstanding results. Many good models and practices have been deployed, many youth projects have been built, demonstrating the determination to effectively implement the Resolution of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels for the 2022-2027 term of the units.

Notably, the youth volunteer movement has been deployed in a rich and diverse manner, attracting the participation of a large number of union members and young people, with many meaningful activities. There have been 2,316 youth projects such as: Community digital transformation model, cluster of library projects, playgrounds for youth and children, space to support creative youth in digital transformation, series of career guidance programs, student ambassador model implemented and inaugurated by the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the cluster; 108 activity points and playgrounds for youth and children in communes, wards and towns were newly built; 69km of rural roads were lit up; 986,684 new trees were planted, contributing to the construction of rural and urban environmental landscapes. Provinces and cities have launched youth projects "Digital transformation in promoting historical and cultural relics", "Digitalization of red addresses". The entire cluster has digitized more than 400 red addresses in promoting historical and cultural relics in localities.

In addition, the program to accompany young people in starting a business and establishing a career was organized by the provincial and municipal youth unions in the cluster with many activities; more than 1,083 billion VND in loan support for young people doing business; 193,901 young people received career counseling, 26,747 young people were introduced to jobs.

In particular, in the first 6 months of 2023, the provincial and municipal Youth Unions in the cluster had 81,945 new members admitted, 10,186 outstanding members introduced to the Party for consideration of admission...

At the conference, delegates exchanged, discussed, and contributed ideas to build the Youth Union and youth movement in the Red River Delta cluster to complete the goals for the last 6 months of 2023, achieving quality, practicality, and efficiency.

Concluding the conference, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated the provincial and municipal youth unions in the Red River Delta cluster for maintaining effective activities; at the same time, he requested the units to implement the program of the year to study the Resolution of the Youth Union Congress, study and implement the action program, put the Resolution into practice early, and concretize it right in the first year of the term, demonstrating the proactiveness of the Red River Delta cluster.

Units also need to focus on researching and implementing breakthroughs, programs and projects of the youth development strategy, and programs of the Congress. In addition to effectively implementing the policies and activities of the Central Government, each locality needs to have projects and products with their own identity, with breakthroughs of the cluster, of each province and city youth union in digital transformation...

In particular, units need to pay attention to the situation and thoughts of union members and youth to have solutions and increase the rate of gathering and attracting union members and youth. In addition to annual activities, clusters need to have a 5-year action plan. Provincial and municipal unions need to be proactive in linking clusters, linking with the cluster's concentrated activities, and having cluster projects to celebrate major local and national anniversaries...
