That result has a significant contribution from the leaders of savings and loan groups, who always stand side by side with poor and near-poor households in the process of using capital.

For more than 15 years as Head of the Savings and Loan Group in Village 2, Ea Tir Commune, Mr. Trinh Van Cho has always been dedicated and devoted to his work.

He always closely follows the Party's policies and the State's policies for poor households and other policy subjects to promptly propagate, enthusiastically guide, and create conditions for people to access preferential loans.

He also encouraged members to voluntarily deposit savings through the group to create their own capital and gradually get used to credit and financial activities.

Mr. Trinh Van Cho (third from right) regularly visits borrowers to monitor loan usage.

According to Mr. Cho, managing capital after lending is an important step in the borrowing process, because if the borrower uses the capital ineffectively or for the wrong purpose, the preferential capital will not be effective, causing losses and increasing bad debt. Clearly identifying that issue, right from the time the borrower received the disbursement, he and the entrusted association regularly checked and urged the borrower to use the capital for the right purpose and effectively. He often reminded the borrower to proactively arrange to repay the debt on time.

Currently, the Savings and Loan Group managed by Mr. Cho has a debt balance of 3.2 billion VND with 58 loan members, no overdue debt, always good classification, most of the members in the group after accessing preferential loans have the conditions to escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

Up to now, Ms. Ban Thi Xuan (Ea Hiao commune) has been the Head of the Women's Union and Head of the Savings and Loan Group for more than 9 years. Ms. Xuan shared: "At first, I encountered many difficulties due to the limited awareness of the group members about preferential loans and the use of loans. Therefore, I always focus on mobilizing households in the village to participate in the group and understand how to use preferential capital for the right purpose and effectively."

Ms. Xuan and Mr. Cho received certificates of merit from the District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in social policy banking activities in 2023.

During the loan evaluation process, Ms. Xuan respected the team members, openly solicited opinions; at the same time, analyzed so that the team members understood the cases and difficult circumstances that needed to be prioritized, creating conditions for loans with the highest capital source.

When group members receive loans, she regularly stays close to them, encourages them to participate in training courses on farming techniques, animal husbandry, and the application of science and technology in production, and gives advice to help members choose suitable economic development models.

Every quarter, the savings and loan group managed by Ms. Xuan holds regular meetings, through which it can monitor the group's general activities, the loan usage process of each member, and provide comments for members to learn from experience, avoiding ineffective loan usage and outstanding debt.

The savings and loan group managed by Ms. Xuan has 53 households borrowing capital with a total outstanding debt of over 2 billion VND with programs such as: lending to poor households, near-poor households, clean water, environmental sanitation, students, households that have just escaped poverty, job creation, labor export, etc. Currently, the savings and loan group managed by Ms. Xuan has no overdue debt; many group members now have a more stable life than before.
