At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment ( DARD) reported on the results of the dossier examination and the level of meeting the NTM standards in 2024 for Chau Thanh district; reported on the synthesis of opinions on the results of the dossier examination and the level of meeting the NTM standards in 2024 for Chau Thanh district; reported on the content that people are still not satisfied with the results of building the NTM in the district according to the synthesis of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province.

Delegates focused on discussing and clarifying issues of concern to the people such as: Irrigation systems; traffic, clean water... for Chau Thanh and Cho Lach districts; agreed to adjust some data according to regulations to complete the dossier.

Delegates from Giong Trom, Ba Tri and Thanh Phu districts reported on the progress of building new rural districts, sectors in charge of criteria reported on the process of assessing criteria of each district; the agriculture and environment sector informed about the preparation of documents for the Provincial Office of National Target Program Coordination to advise and submit to the Steering Committee.

With the contents clarified at the meeting, delegates voted to propose considering and recognizing Chau Thanh district as meeting the NTM standards, Cho Lach district as meeting the advanced NTM standards with 100% of delegates attending the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of building new rural and advanced new rural districts of Chau Thanh and Cho Lach districts.

To soon complete the dossier to send to the Central Government, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the two localities take note of the opinions of delegates at the meeting; coordinate with the provincial professional sector to soon complete the dossier so that the Provincial People's Committee can submit it to the Central Government for consideration and appraisal to recognize the district as meeting the standards of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas.

The remaining districts speed up the progress of building districts that meet NTM standards, complete the documents to submit to the Provincial National Target Program Coordination Office for consultation through the Steering Committee, and send them to the Central Government as soon as possible.

For communes that have not yet met the new rural standards, focus on implementing and completing the documents to send to the province for voting for recognition. Districts focus on speeding up the disbursement of investment capital for the two national target programs on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh also requested members of the Steering Committee, districts, and sectors in charge of criteria to focus on close coordination between sectors and localities to effectively carry out the task of building new rural areas in the coming time.
