11 households supported with water-saving irrigation model

This activity is within the framework of the Project "Enhancing the resilience of small-scale agriculture to water security due to climate change in the Central Highlands and South Central Region" (SACCR-MARD).

People of Ea Kar district participated in the handover ceremony of the water-saving irrigation model.

During this period, 11 households were supported to implement the water-saving irrigation model in Xuan Phu, Ea Sar, Ea So communes (Ea Kar district); Ea Phe, Ea Kenh, Ea Yong, Krong Buk communes (Krong Pac district); Quang Tien commune (Cu M'gar district); Ea Sol, Dlie Yang communes and Ea Drang town (Ea H'leo district).

Beneficiaries are poor and near-poor households, ethnic minority households, and households where women are the breadwinners of the family.

Mr. Nong Van Thach (Xuan Phu commune, Ea Kar district) introduced the drip irrigation model wrapped around the roots.

Each household will be supported in designing and installing a water-saving irrigation model suitable for actual farming conditions. In particular, local sprinkler irrigation models around the base and drip irrigation are applied to help people easily operate, maintain and use effectively.

The local sprinkler irrigation model around the tree roots is applied by people in Ea Yong commune, Krong Pac district in cultivation.

Applying the water-saving irrigation model not only helps people reduce labor, save water and fertilizer, but also contributes to increasing productivity and improving the quality of agricultural products through more effective management of plant nutrition.

The model is also a suitable solution in promoting sustainable farming and adapting to climate change.
