Launching "Month of action for food safety" in 2024

In recent times, the work of ensuring food safety in the province has had close and effective coordination among sectors and localities. From 2023 to present, the whole province has established 562 interdisciplinary and specialized inspection and supervision teams on food safety; conducting inspections of over 11,600 food processing, production and trading establishments. Of which, 922 establishments were administratively handled for violations, with a total fine of nearly 4.5 billion VND... In the past 2 years, food poisoning cases in the province have decreased.

From 2023 to present, 922 administrative violations have been handled, with a total fine of nearly 4.5 billion VND.

However, ensuring food safety still faces difficulties and challenges. Therefore, the month of action for food safety, taking place from April 15 to May 15, is a time for sectors, levels and the entire population to join in strengthening activities to ensure food safety and protect public health.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested all levels, sectors, political systems and people to actively respond and effectively implement the goals of the Action Month for Food Safety. Strengthen inspection, examination and strict handling of organizations, individuals, production and business establishments violating regulations on food security and safety; build and develop safe agricultural production areas, concentrated livestock and slaughter areas; strengthen food poisoning prevention....

Comrade Giang Thi Dung requested all levels, sectors, political systems and people to effectively implement the goals of the Month of Action for Food Safety.

After the launching ceremony, units, departments, branches, armed forces, union members and youth marched, cheered and propagated in response to the "Month of action for food safety and hygiene" in 2024 on the streets of Pho Lu town, Bao Thang district.
